Really simple, but I replaced the sparkplugs/wires on my truck. I had put in some iridium plugs about 30k miles ago, but when my wife was driving my truck the other day, she complained it had a hiccup at higher RPMs, in an effort to save gas, I rarely get above 3k rpms, but it was pretty noticeable above 4500 RPM. Pulled the plugs and the gap had gotten to .065", looked it up and it should be .054, so got some new Motocraft plugs to toss in.... and while pulling the plugs, one of them disintegrated in my hands.. so had to go back to the parts store and get a wire set. and boy did that make a huge difference, even at lower speeds. Much more peppy, and happier engine, hopefully some better fuel economy as well. I'm just surprised the old plugs didn't last long at all, but I've had some issues that have since been fixed, including a leaking injectors, a vacuum leak at one point, and a lot of short cold drives, so maybe that shortened their lives?
