Well, cooling system flush gets the crud buildup out of the engine. Problem with that is; that crud buildup is probably keeping the coolant IN (as you've now found out). Better to know it was that close to a leak and just get it over with. That sucks about the hood cable. Do you have any salvage yards in your area?
