 Started to mount rear fenders . They held in with screws right now for mock up purposes.Debating before I weld them to the side bars. What you guys think . I may need to make some relief cuts to flare out a lil bit. And of course sideways pic lol

 Only other one I took . I'm pretty sure I'm going to stretch this a lil if I do use them . my rear travel isn't much cause of how stiff it is out back .

 Yea I've been alway scared blowing a tire out back and takin out the window . Plus I live in a new neighborhood that's only have way completed so much is alway covering the back cause of the neighborhood sprinkler systems 😡 it damn near pointless to wash him most the time

 Pulled the rear wheels & replaced the rear brake shoes, l/s rear wheel cylinder (because the bleeder screw was broken off), & the l/s rear metal brake line to the wheel cylinder.

 They are not that hard to do, the hardest part is the spring & pin that mounts the shoes to the backing plate. They can be a little frustrating to install sometimes. When you get ready to do them make sure you get the drum brake tools.

Lmao . I can't stand workin on drums either lol . One of the reasons I converted the rear axle to expo . Damn springs lol course one of my best friends /coworker/pretend dad has his 70 “ cutlass with a 515 bbc rocking drums all 4 corners running low 11's all motor , high tens on a lil shot

We have those steady springs on the MGBs too - easiest way to fit is to put the cap on the spring, place it over the hole in the shoe and compress it with a pair of pliers gripping the edge of the cap - then insert the pin from behind and rotate the pin 90 degrees.

I have a tool for doing this but it often isn't worth the trip to the box since the pliers are already out.

 Did the usual oil change 2 days ago, and replaced the replaced Starter. I dont understand how my original starter got like 21 years out of it and with ALL the technological advances I get a replacement one from the big box store out of haste; YES Autism Zone.., (I know, I know.) and I barely get 4 years out of it ON top of the fact both times of replacement I had to go through the 3-ring circus of going back & forth because some asshat mis-boxed a manual starter with an automatic starter.. the Nose cones are completely different with engagement of flywheels or flex plates  and NOT interchangeable ya asses!! (AutoZone generalization)

For once consistency but only in failures is not a strong suit to be proud of..

I use to get all my parts at Autozone or Advance Auto because they were a lot cheaper than NAPA,not anymore,I got tired of having to replace the same thing time after time. Now I only go there if NAPA or the Ford Dealer doesn't have it,yeah I'll go to the Ford Dealer even before them now.

 Im chasing a noise in the front end. I suspect when i rebuilt the front end I didn't get the sway bars tight, but I haven't had time to check.

I also have a wet/cold start chirp from the belt or pulleys. I suspect its the idler.

I like the fenders I think they are a tad bit too small for the hole? Something looks just a little off like the tire is too big for the fender


I installed new disc brakes on the back of my wifes FJ cruiser this week, what a fiasco!! The FJ also has the drum inside a disc style emergency brake, those little drums are a pita! One side took 4 hours to get the rotor off finally gave way to a 12# sledge. Then I rebuilt both calipers only to find one would not depress the plunger got stuck, so traded in my rebuilt calipers for all new units = $70 each! ouch. Toyotas are expensive.

We just finished installing a 2007 engine with 120K on it into a one owner 2006 Ranger with 306K miles!!! Only to find out the fuel pump is very weak. So waiting on the new Airtex pump and strainer today. STOCK fuel pump lasted 12-13 years and 305K miles!! Holy cow
New clutch, junk yard trans and t case and now a low mile engine, this 2006 will be ready to go later today.
Shows what is possible when you change your oil, 306K miles on a SOHC engine!!

Ill get some pics

Sport trac comes in the shop this weekend :)

Forget my stupid quick paint cut paste work, but you get teh idea. Raise the fender up to be level with the bed surface? Looks more natural

What suspension is being used, with a OEM Ranger Suspension rubbing is inevitable !
Going to need HD Helper springs or Bag It !
