They are not that hard to do, the hardest part is the spring & pin that mounts the shoes to the backing plate. They can be a little frustrating to install sometimes.
We have those steady springs on the MGBs too - easiest way to fit is to put the cap on the spring, place it over the hole in the shoe and compress it with a pair of pliers gripping the edge of the cap - then insert the pin from behind and rotate the pin 90 degrees.
