Billet fuel hat, 2 340lph pumps and metco rails.
On order is -8AN lines both feed and return, fittings, fuel pressure regulator, gauge and filter.

All that is left is injectors(ID 1050x) and i'll convert the truck to E85

WOOHOO!

I would put some carpet under those tires, I heard concrete can suck the moisture out of sitting tires and cause eventual dry rot.

I've heard cement can suck the charge out of a battery, but not the tire thing, good to know.

I would put the tires on wood slabs, 2 x 10s or 12s, just my way.

I've never heard the tire thing.

The cement and battery thing is pure BS. A buddy did design work for Optima, putting them on cement is actually better for them, it is usually cooler.

True, when I worked at les Schwab as a tire buster in my 20s the batteries always sat on the concrete. I think it's worse for the concrete cause battery acid eats away at the concrete.

I'm pretty sure the tire thing is true, I bought a 2014 civic that had been sitting on the lot since it was made in late 13, in one spot.

I ended up with a new set of tires from honda for free the thing shook so bad. They said it was from sitting on the concrete, said it had flat spots on the tires.

My guess that is nothing to do with the concrete affecting the tyres but just distortion.

My granddad used to winter abroad and always had his car laid up which involved jacking it up on blocks so that the tyres were off the ground and didn't get flat spotted. All the chrome was smeared in petroleum jelly and covered in muslin too!

That could be all it is. I had an old Toyota truck that sat in my driveway so long it flat spotted the tires. Shook like a mother fucker until you warmed em up some and spun them.

Tires in general do just suffer from dry rot. I think 10 years or so is maximum recommended life regardless of tread depth, as long as you annually inspect them past 5...

Don't know about dry rot but certainly UV light damages them - here in the UK they were talking about making it compulsory to change tyres over 4 years old!

Yes - we DO get pulled over from time to time by Police & VOSA (the govt dept that controls vehicles etc) roadside checks - but more likely it would be added to the annual test - already any cracks or deterioration in a tyre will mean your car fails the test.

PS Even smartphones have an OFF switch ....

No - that would only draw attention to the tyres!

Visiting a Rolls Royce & Bentley place a few years back they were using standard cellulose thinners wiped over the tyres - it leaves a "new" looking surface to the rubber but I guess it would also wash off the protective wax which is suffused through the rubber to extend its life.

Major accident on I-70 here in Denver yesterday, right during the height of rush hour. Something like 28 vehicles burned, 4 people dead. This YouTuber caught the truck on his dash cam, doing about 80 down the shoulder.

Haven't heard about the cause yet. I personally have seen semi's pulled over right about where this happened with the brakes so hot, the disks and drums are literally glowing bright orange.

Well, I will say the lightning has shifted gears since I last posted.

The fuel system is almost installed. But, i decided to upgrade blowers. Stock is a 1.8L, moves about 650cfm. I had a really old 2.3L top feed that moves about 1100cfm. I decided to buy the latest and greatest from whipple. It's a 2.9L rear feed that flows a shade over 1800 CFM. I ordered new shocks from hotchkis, a different traction bar setup from stifflers and am painting some engine parts to pretty it all up. Should be good fun.
