No - that would only draw attention to the tyres!

Visiting a Rolls Royce & Bentley place a few years back they were using standard cellulose thinners wiped over the tyres - it leaves a "new" looking surface to the rubber but I guess it would also wash off the protective wax which is suffused through the rubber to extend its life.
