I wish I could post some, but I don't have any of my beloved Hohner (yes, the harmonica people) Les Paul Custom copy. You mentioned you loaned your favorite guitar to a friend... well, let me tell you a little story...
Spent about 8 years playing guitar in some popular local country bands between 1978 and 1986. Did some studio time with one of them and pressed a 45 RPM recording off of that (woohoo!). This guitar was PART OF ME... I know you understand what I mean by that. After I quit playing in bands, I made the mistake of loaning that guitar to a brother-in-law on my (ex)wife's side. Well, he pawned it for a pair of Grateful Dead tickets. By the time I found out about it, the guitar was long gone. Moral of the story: I'm a dumbass for loaning it to ANYBODY!
When I bought that guitar, it was hanging right next to a Gibson LP Custom. They looked almost identical. I spent about 45 minutes alone with each of them and bought the Hohner. It simply out-played the Gibson at such a high level, I wouldn't have bought the Gibson if you had offered it to me at half price. God, I miss that guitar!
Just for the record, when I joined that first band, I was a card-carrying rocker. I sold my soul to a country band because in the late 1970's to mid-1980's you couldn't give away rock 'n' roll around my area. It was all cowboy boots and yee-haw, if you know what I mean. Of course, once I got settled into the band, I started pushing some rock stuff out there and got them to liven it up a bit with stuff like Skynard, Bob Seger, 38 Special etc. So I basically turned them into a Country-Rock group. They didn't complain because their popularity rose by doing a little bit of everything (including some original material).
I haven't touched a six string in about two years. Cameron talked me into buying a really nice Martin 12 string and it sits in the stand next to my recliner in the living room. I will pick it up and mess around with it for a few minutes most evenings. In addition to the Martin, we have an Epiphone six string flat top (currently without strings) and the Floyd Rose Strat. Come to think of it, I haven't seen the Strat in a couple of years or more, although I did see the case in Cameron's man cave the other day, and I assume the Strat is still in there. LOL
When I get some time, I will snap a pic of the Strat and the Martin. There's just something depressing about a guitar without strings...
