I have an iPod (one of the older ones).  I can plug it in to my USB charger that is mounted in my radio bezel and the 3.5mm into the jack in the dash.
There is an Adapter, I will need to look it up but it has the older iPod Connector and a 3.5mm Plug.
Makes the OEM Ford Radio sounds great.
New Speakers would help too !

These two pics show the basics of the Adapter, not sure what you have for an OEM Radio but this Adapter needs the 20-Pin Connector on the back of the Radio.

That is similar to the P.I.E. auxiliary audio adapters I've seen (they are extinct now).  I have the 6-CD Pioneer Premium sound system head unit, Mountaineer sub enclosure with a Boss replacement speaker, Kicker speakers in the front doors and factory speakers in the rear.  I bought the head unit last year on eBay.  It was NOS and it sound amazing.  BTW, if anyone reading this thread is interested in a nice 6-CD changer that mounts in a console (or wherever), I have one I would like to sell.  I hate it just sitting in a box, not being used.

Talk to me about this CD6 Changer, I have, but won't for long, a CD6, Ford Type one each, it has a 20 pin connector on the rear of the radio, no amp, four speakers, two of which are the Ford/Pioneer front speakers and with the SpecUSA Unit they sound great.

1) How do you connect up your iPods ?  I think you said a 3.5mm connector.

2) Do you have the 20-Pin Connector in the back of the radio ?   I would think you do !

1) With this OEM system, the only way I can connect the iPod at the moment is with an FM modulator (Monster brand).  I have seen several products to plug into the back of the radio that makes it work like a built-in 3.5mm AUX input.  The P.I.E. I mentioned was one of those devices, but is discontinued now.

2) My radio has three connectors on the back.  They are 20-pin CD changer connection, 16-pin standard power, speaker and illumination connection and 8-pin subwoofer connection.

You can connect my in-console CD changer to the CD-6 head unit, but I didn't need all that and really wanted my console storage back.  The changer was great, but I love the sound of that Pioneer CD-6! 85W per channel!

Hows it working... does the 6 CD Changer work at all.

I heard there is a quick fix but don't ask me for it !

What connector do you have for the iPod, the wide, older type, or the Lighting Port ?

Both CD changers work, the new CD-6 in-dash head unit and the console mounted changer.  I just don't use the console mount unit so I have more room for storage.

iPod connector is the old 30-pin wide connector.

Not sure if you guys are interested,  but I installed the Sirius car kit this afternoon. The mount can be used for a variety if things like cell phones or a GPS.  Took some pics but it mounts down by the heater controls and I ran the wires behind the dash. I punched a hole down by the aux output and ran it up and out by the heater controls. The antenna I just put on the dash and ran the wires behind the dash and out with the aux wire.

shano63,
Thx for the input.  if you see my Avatar you will notice it is a Radio Bezel without any holes in it; I am attempting to clean things up and, it is just me, That mount is too much for this setup.
I do like the one wore setup but my XM is part of the Head Unit do there won't be any other components.

I went to an Audio Shop, asked about XM and got a response I didn't think was coming.  The owner suggested another Music Source called "Tidal", an app for the iPhone.
Me being not too up on this stuff, I was dump founder, I thought XM was one of the best streaming sources for music.  From what the conversation turned to, XM's quality of music is less than you would get out of a CD by less 50%.   I have never thought that would ever happen, I've listened to XM and I thought it sounds pretty good, (must be the tin ears) and since I want 50's, 60's, and 70's Music I don't get that around where I come from so I need someone else's advice.

Has anyone heard of poor quality level of music coming from the XM Source ?
I don't have the best hearing nd even if I did I am not sure if I could tell the difference anyway !
Thanks

My ears must be like yours, I've had sirius going on 14 years now and always thought the sound quality was great. Sirius is about as techy, tecky, techie?...as I get. I couldn't even figure out how to post multiple pics without searching around. I like the plug and play aspect of the portable unit. I even have the boom box when we're out on the deck. I have no clue about other streaming services, but I hope it works out for you

Remember XM is satellite and requires line of sight. Trees, parking garages, and tunnels will cause a loss of service. If you are on the open road it works well.  If you have good cell service there is:
1) Pandora
2) Shazam
3) iHeartRadio
4) Spinrilla
5) Spotify
6) YouTube
And their are others. I have an old Ipod 8 Gig that I maxed out with music I like. It is mostly classic rock and roll/metal, some jazz, some zydeco, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Hank Jr. and some Aretha.

I have the XM Receiver so I will be using XM.

If XM  doesn't work out then I will consider one of these, thanks.

Sirius and XM merged a few years ago. I'm sure the XM and Sirius radio's are virtually the same. As far as reception is concerned, it's gotten much better. I drive an 80 mile commute round trip, mostly tree covered roads and hardly lose it at all. Tunnels and parking garages are a different story.

Actually my Receiver is for the SiriusXM, I was just shortening it down to XM.
I have listened to SiriusXM and it had a good sound, good enough for me.
Here where I live it is WIDE open spaces, even in town, buildings are limited in height so there wouldn't be much blockage but I don't know for sure how the SiriusXM will work in my truck.
I do know this thing Verizon calls a Phone Service is by far the worse thing going... in my area.

Thanks for your reply, I am mounting the Tweeter Pods to the Windshield Pillars, repositioning the 4WD Switch and the Power Ports from the Radio Bezel, before sending the Truck to Audio Shop... this guy even told me he would wire up my Power Window. Mirrors and Locks... his prices are by far the best I have run into here in SoCal, so he might do it all.  I might even vacuum it out AND clean up some of the dust build up.

Getting impatient want to hear this new system sing and use the Apple Car Play, (A biggy for me) !

Waiting for the New Sub to get here, it seems the part you want is always the last to arrive.

Thanks to all for their input, I'm ready for the install and the new tunes !
