Well my black friday furniture came in today, finally. The stock slid right on and so did the pistol grip, but with a couple of hiccups.
First off, I couldn't get the screw through the grip. The reason here being that a layer of flash was covering the hole. A punch got rid of it with no hammer required, thankfully.
Second, at first I thought they forgot the screw that comes with the stock. This is an A1 stock so the screw is much shorter to allow the buffer and thus the BCG to come all the way back. I felt a bit like a moron later after it came stumbling out of the bag the stock was in (inside the box).
Other than those two things though, everything came as you'd expect it to and the parts fit wonderfully.
That being said though, I found one downside to this wide jaw bench vise. If you don't position the bench block just right, the upper can swing down and the hand guards can ram against the corners on the jaws, marking them up rather deeply, which just happened to my poor Windham. Not a big deal, I suppose, but it still sucks no less.
At some point I'll probably get a smaller bench vise or something to bolt onto the small mobile desk in my office where the guns and tools are kept so I can do minor work like that up here and also avoid that from happening again.
So, learn from my mistake at no cost to you.
