Have you considered an LED light Bar across the front of the truck ?What Lights are you planning on using for behind the Grille, LED or Halogen ?

LED may not be in your plans but you gain in two quick ways, LEDs can put out a lot of light in various levels of whiteness, ( my favorite is 5000 K), and the amperage requirements for LED are far lower than standard bulbs in the same equivalent wattage !

I am thinking the Fog Light Bulb Mod in OEM Housings should work well, Luv'd the OEM Fogs on my EDGE, and the addition of the Light Bar in front and mounting LEDs or Incandescent Lighting will be great, without the extra work of taking the Grille area apart.
Just me talking out loud, Devil's Advocate !
Good Luck on your choices and mounting, hope all goes well and please pictures !

One more thing, I used the Tow Hook Mounting locations on the Front of the Truck to mount a Brush guard/Light Mounting location.  Worked out better than I thought it would.  I will see if I can find some pictures of the Brush Guard. The bracket came through the sir opening in the middle of the apron.

IF LEDs are in your future, you might want to check out this .com location.

I found them on FB as an advertiser, "lightbarsupply.com".

Pricing looks good in fact, maybe even great, I found no reviews on problems with the lights, some on supply and demand.
If these lights are any good then the supply problems are understandable.

IF you MaDMaxx or anyone else are interested in LED, check them out !

This isn't an ad, just something that caught my eye and I thought I would share... sharing is good, right !

I've got two LED 9 inch bars, the grille won't noticeably interfere with the light pattern as they're large holes in the honeycomb and that the lights will be close to the grille itself (they would be noticeable if they were further away.

Check page 3 of my maintenance log (link in my signature) for pics and details.

I lied, my memory failed me again.
It's a target tube of some sort, however the bulb type has a coated (opaque) end to it.

If you remove that ring/bracket around the fog light bulb you will have more light spread and it's a wider pattern.  I did this with my fogs and there is a thread somewhere on the forums about it.  It's not a HUGE difference but it does make a noticeable difference.  It's super easy to split the housing and undo the little screw that is holding that bracket on.

I just replaced my non oem foglights which were peeling to oem ones and will be removing that bracket again.

Well i'm not sure i need to remove it, though by spread, where does it increase the light? upgrading the bulbs to 9005 was very easy and the cut off is nice.

It should make the beam pattern wider by removing that bulb shield.

I thought about using 9005 but I believe that's 15watt increase over the h10 bulb right? My only concern would be possibly melting or excess heat that would do something..lol

How long have ya been running them for?

Um, month or so?

It's 65w Vs 45w - though LED's so heat is no where near halogen. Hadn't noticed any lack of breadth for the beam.

It will make the beam more diffuse, spead over a larger area as the reflector will no longer be functioning as designed.

What exactly creates this 'cut-off' on your lights?

Honestly, i'm not certain, it should be the reflector itself.

Where that may ever so slightly add to or take away from some lighting attributes. That's more of a HEAT deflector than a light deflector around the bulb. its designed to soak in the heat away from the bulb and it cools off quick. Higher wattage of course may heat it up more causing it to melt the housing or discolor it.

I would suppose more for long duration with lights on more so than fully on wattage increases although more wattage especially in Halogen bulbs will most def increase heat withing the structured housing of that lamp housing. Over time more or worsening discoloration or warping could occur; more so if you drive longer or one of those people that turn on all your lights during the day for safety or just plain attention.. lol A.K.A those with HID lights driving around all hours of the day and you know full well that vehicle doesnt have DRL.

hmmm, that makes sense on the heat ring more than a light ring.  Makes me wonder too because the square design of the fog lights do not have that ring but the round fog lights do.  I might keep the ring in then?  I just remember when I took them out the first time with the first set the beam pattern was definitely wider on the ground which was nice.  But in all reality not much is visible when I am in the cab and even less now since my truck is lifted 4".
