Sorry... SRS - Single Row Series; of LED lights or lighting say Vs. Double row, the typical rendition of Rigid selling $2200 50" Dual row LED light bars that for many people equate a mortgage payment and two car payments in some families yet their justification is "But we made it, you MUST buy it".
See Rigid Lighting did something that for many would be rather confusing. That same light bar; 50.00" Straight LED light was in its own infancy a $1799.00 tag to it.. Still more than enough to make the average enthusiasts butt pucker tighter than a frogs ass and run down to the local Autistic zone or Orielly's and buy a set of $49.99 and down lights before their wallets burst into flames at the counter.
Then out of no where three other "specific" LED companies hit the market and several old school and current market trendsetters were already in development of their own "LED" lights. Rigid made the bold move to RAISE their prices and that same LED light bar above went to $2199.99, and as of 1.7 years ago, they were bought out by another company and since that time NO LONGER ENFORCE or UPHOLD their Lifetime warranty just for good measure after the buy out.
For some people, rough on their stuff, that's important. For some people interested in piece of mind, that's important.
Ideally there is 4 manufactures that make the same in likeness extruded aluminumized channel that ALL LED manufactures use and I'm not positive, but I believe all of them are made in China. What changes is the quality of the - Lenses
- LED's used
- How the LED is used [Explain later]
- The obvious size of the light
- Circuit symmetry
- Quality of internal parts
- Packaging
- Manufactures origin of assembly
- Manufactures stand to backing up product
Buggman might even be able to throw another thing or two in there, I'm running off the cuff based upon just product knowledge and industry insight and politics.
I wasn't really ready for this yet but I deal with a company here in the USA, local to all via California State. They make everything in house with the exception of the same extruded casings everyone from Rigid to El-Cheapo Chinese brands use. They COME with a no questions asked Lifetime warranty. They offer 4 different LED light tiers to cover everything from rock crawling to ripping across the Desert at 80MPH and never being able to catch that light plus+ a entry level light for the budget conscious with no loss to the warranty.
I had an opportunity to deal with Rigid Lighting due to a friend at Factor55 giving me a foot in the door but why? Everyone is trying to sell them already, the company at a whole puts a bad taste in my mouth in their business model to their audacity at the counter level, and frankly. My demographic doesnt deal with "Mall Crawlers". I've been building this company based upon a passion for the outdoors, traveling on a budget, and making real business relationships like an old school Mom & Pop shop because of my own ANTI-corporate beliefs. Relationships are far more important to me along with shared adventures and experiences when I can get them not necessarily the $$$ first. I've done so much pro-bono it would make your head swim.
But like Buggman, if anyone has yet to see the vendor links on the forum home page, I run and operate 12° North Industries.., technically I'm not quite finished with all of my paperwork within the State of Nevada and that's why I've been holding off with going fully live. Not to mention, I've got a metric ton of products still waiting to be uploaded that I do anywhere between 8-10 to 50 a day.
I could arrange opening up the link for a day for everyone to see what I have going on and possibly a group buy if there was enough interest in lighting. I just find myself self critiquing and unprepared for/at the moment.
