I've been listening to the new mustang's and some have a very nice exhaust sound different from the common V8s and I assumed they were supercharged. Could that different sounding exhaust be the "active exhaust" you spoke of?

The active exhaust allows the driver to change the exhaust volume but selecting one of four mode.  Quiet, normal, sport, track

The cat was not by my choice. I came home from work sat down to take my boots off and it jumped in my lap.

Def not as loud, but same concept.  I can also program it to use quiet mode so when it starts early in the am its quiet

I got a really good deal on due it being "used".

I took it to local small, 1/8th strip.  Using "drag mode" the car removes all torque reduction on shifts, and raises the shift points to 7800.  It is brutal.  It will back the tires on the 3-4 shift at almost 80 miles an hour.  the 1-2 shift hazes the tires pretty good before hooking it.  That said, track prep and inexperience in the car lead to a bunch of 8.30s @ 91 mph.

The 91 in the 1/8th is impressive, I believe you can trim that 8.3 down substantially with the right set of tires. Wicked for a daily driver!

ya, my lightning is only slightly faster in the 1/8th. It's run 7.26 @ 95 mph.

So considering how tame this car is, the fact I was able to run the track with my a/c seats still on(AC off for safety) and do it this fast was impressive.

My lightning ran at pacific.  I am in virginia right now.  I ran at some little podunk track called Northeast Raceway.  that said, Bremerton still runs the 1/4 mile and we run in canada at Mission too.

Eddie i think you might be hearing the crank change - didn't they move to a flat plane crank?

Correct, only the Gt350 is.  Even the new GT500 that is coming, which is using a 5.2L, is going to be a cross plane crank.

Quick update.

Made a few small changes on the car.

I got rid of the OEM steering wheel

And installed a steering wheel from a GT350 that I picked up from White Bear Lake Ford.

Threw some Husky floor liners in it

And I added a RF Q300-12 sub and amp package to the factory stereo.
