I looked at a 1991 ranger yesterday that i was interested in. Had more rust than I'd hoped it would have. Slight leak at the rear main seal but started, shifted, drove and stopped better than I thought it would. Not sure if I will go forward on it.
It's in the 50's here. Bitterly cold with a stiff breeze.

I'd hold out for an 88 :)

The worth of a ranger is strictly up to the person buying it, there is no scale to measure by. If you want it, it is good enough to buy :)

The good news is....DAWGS won!!!!!!!!!!!
You must have had a bubble of warm air. The max according to my weather station was 30. It is supposed to get up to 33 today. I just checked the Lula weather and it will get up to 35 there, so for some crazy reason it is warmer north of me. I will hit the Wilson Shoals range early this afternoon to test some new Six8 loads.

This coming Saturday at Merc Stadium will be interesting.  Nick Saban vs Kirby Smart. Old Master vs Apprentice (now New Master). Those two teams will be powerhouses as long as both coaches remain where they are. GO DAWGS!

It was also good to see UCF beat Auburn. That confirms Auburn's conference wins were flukes.

Woke to 17º here in northeast Ga.  I even had to bribe the dogs to go out to do their business.....but they eventually all did.....such good poochers. :pat
We're not supposed to see the 40ºs or above til the weekend and teens every night.
If you want, I'll send some of those refreshing temps down to ya in a couple of days. ;)

re: the '91.
What motor and what price?

Actually my instant-read thermometer registered the 35º while I was smoking/bbqing ribs. Got a wild hair and set it on my truck's toolbox for a couple of mins.....after it said "brrrrrr..." it read 35.3º.

Classic crazy Ga weather.  I just think it's a waste of good cold temps to not have any snow.  I wanna play! 4"-8+" of the cold wet white stuff will work just fine for me.  I got my Ranger on Sunday....2 days after we got that Dec. snow.  My standard luck......day late & dollar short.

The best part of it being an all SEC championship? It's an all SEC championship!  lol
Someone tell me again about how "over-rated" the SEC is...I dare ya! lmao
The Rose Bowl was a barn-burner...I can only imagine next Mon night!!

GO DAWGS!
Flush the tide!

I started the Ranger for the fist time in about a week. It was 33 degrees and the battery had barely enough power to start the engine. I ran it 45 minutes up the road to the range and back - it is cranking fine now. It has a Motorcraft battery that is at least 9 years old. I am living on borrowed time with this battery.

It made it up to 35 here today according to the weather station. I was at the Wilson Shoals WMA range today testing a new load for my six8 AR. I was there during the high today in Lula which was 34.

Good day at the range. Two of my loads have less than a 7/16" spread at 90 yards (range limit). I will be pressing out another 15 rounds for ladder testing later this month when I have access to a longer range.

The more I shoot the six8 the more I like it.

Does sound very much like you're on the last of borrowed time with that battery, perhaps pre-buy one soon to throw in when it pops?

Good run to/at the range :) It's getting warmer here, going to be around 40 for the next couple of weeks.

Took the Ranger out on a very short errand run tonight, first drive on the new spacers, felt good and runs smooth.

I have had the truck on the farm when we got it in 09. My hired help kept up with maintenance but all he ever did was oil and filter changes. We also used NAPA for parts and batteries.

I have had it exclusively for the past 3 years since we sold off most of the farm equipment and planted everything in pine trees. It spent the time on the farm hooked up to a float charger as it could sit for a month or two. This is the first time I have let it set for a week without cranking it for the past 3 years and it was a cold morning.

If it is going to die soon I hope it holds out for another month. I am still paying Christmas off so funds are a bit tight.

On a brighter note, I did make the last payment on my wife's car yesterday. Debt free once again.

I have been paying 5.5 years on this car. I used to work on the road with a 99% travel job. I would buy her a new car every time the warranty ran out so I was trading every 3 to 4 years. I changed jobs 3 years ago so I was at home every night and this car had a 5 year warranty so I decided we will keep it a bit longer as I was tired of being upside down on the car loans most of the time.

Since the warranty ran out last June I have replaced the battery, thermostat housing, water pump, spark plugs, 2 coils, and the tire pressure control board. It will get a for sale sign on it once I receive the title.

I did a little checking on the Ranger battery. It has a mfg date of Feb 09 so the PO replaced the battery right before I got it - it is a 60 month battery. Cranked without issue this morning in 24 degree weather.

The door was iced shut this morning. Once I got in, I let it warm up for about 20 mins with the defroster blasting. Windshield was still iced over.

So I poured some hot water on it....just kidding. I took a plastic putty knife to it to scrape the ice away. Took a minute but I got it to where I could drive it.

"Pro tip" - use an interior/rubber trim care product on your door seals, something like 303 Protectant, and you won't have the doors sticking.

This is the kind of weather i love having the ability to cut off the AC when the vents are on the windscreen, moare heat! :)

I usually do clean the seals with the same thing I clean the interior with. Sometimes ArmorAll and sometimes F21. I'll have to make sure to get in there extra good and coat the seals well

I don't think that was the problem though. There was ice on the roof of the truck that went all the way down to the middle of the door. Even the door handle took some playing with to free it up.

Haha, not intentionally!

I've been to Gainesville, I had my Mustang tuned up there at Kurgan Motorsports.

I've also been to Stone Mountain a few times for Mustang at the Mountain annual show.

How did it snow here and not there!?!?

Cutting/splicing - blinker mod - LED's aren't very good when lights are on, so 'compensating'

It's too cold to do this outside, so rushing around.

I have a 2008 GT (4.6L V8). I bought it in Las Vegas brand new in September 2007. She's pushing 63k miles and change on her now. Pretty much just a garage queen now days.  I put a set of Brenspeed cams in it, FRPP 3.73s (stock 3.31s) and Eibach struts, shocks, springs, and sway bars. Plus BMR pan hard bar and lower and upper control arms in the rear. She's got a hurst shifter and K&N CAI. I've had several sets of exhaust on it but currently it has muffler deletes and stock headers/cats. I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of for now. At Kurgan Motorsports, she threw down 302 at the wheels. Not too horrible since most stock 3V 4.6's are looking at around 260 RWHP.

The day I bought her...
