So. It is just the upper arms. My truck is already lifted 7" total (4" suspension, 3" body) This company in Cali fabs em up and sells them on eBay. I am hoping that them being made for lifted trucks will change the drive angle. Allowing my balljoints to not wear as fast. And these ones are removable.
I have 35x12.50r15 on a set of 15x12 -63mm offset Blackrock 997 wheels. Plus some 2" hubcentric spacers.
I would love to switch to 37s once I get the v8. (One day)
I got my check this morning, ordered my stuff about an hour ago. I have more stuff to buy, but I am going to possibly wait till next week or something. Have not decided.
Yeah, all my coworkers are like "put it in savings". Well it was meant to stimulate the economy so I am buying truck parts haha :)

Interesting the Upper A-Arms for lifted trucks, the only way to reduce angles in a Lifted Ranger front-end is to increase the width of the wheel tracking.
But the may be exactly what you are doing.
Sounds like you are moving in the right direction, good luck with all the parts and the 5.13 with 35 should work out well.

I hope so. I will be able to finally use 5th gear hopefully.
I know highway cruising will be limited to about 60-65 prob, but I am at that now and struggling in 4th gear. 5th gear is useless right now.
I cannot wait! They should be delivered next week by my birthday. So Happy early Birthday to meee!

Ditto on the stimulus $$. It will go towards paying the house insurance for this year and State taxes which leaves about $250 to go towards the tires I need to put on the Ranger fairly soon.

On a whim I check the oil this morning and it is a quart low. I have been driving it a bit hard the past couple of thousand miles. Lots of time with the tach above 3k. It is about 250 miles from the scheduled maintenance. I changed the oil after lunch along with the oil filter. Checked all fluids where the radiator overflow was dry. I filled it to the Full Hot top mark and then cleaned out the airbox. The filter was replaced 5k ago and looked good. Power steering. brake fluid and trany all looked good. The brake pads are about 3/4 worn and their is some dis-colorization on the rotor where it has gotten hot a time or two - I have noticed a slight vibration on hard braking recently so I will probably be doing a brake job about the same time I replace the tires - I did that the last time I changed tires. I will go with new rotors, bearings and pads again. I didn't bother rotating the tires as it has the better stagger according to tread depth but I did need to add some air to both front tires.

I drove 45 miles to the range, heavy footing it as there was little traffic. I checked the coolant reservoir and it was midway between the cold full and hot full marks. I then had some quality .45, .357Mag, and 9MM time. I am growing quite fond of the 357 as I can hit a 5" gong 6 for 6 times at 75'. I can't do that with my Glock or 1911.

I envy you having the option to go to the range like that. We have to pay $20 each at the indoor range and share it with a bunch of other gun nuts, or go off-roading to get to a place we know of in the country. If it has rained any at all in the past two weeks, you may find yourself WALKING out as it is some rugged terrain to get there and you may just get stuck.

I have a 100 yard indoor range less than 5 miles from the house. It has crappy ventilation and they frown on policing your own brass. I go to a WMA outdoor range about 45 miles up the road that has a 25 yard pistol and 100 yard rifle range. Covered shooting stations and in the fresh air.

Today they had only one RO and he had closed the pistol range and due to "social distancing" every other station on the rifle range was closed. It was also full. When the RO saw me waiting he told me to go to the pistol range. I am a regular and they give me a lot of leeway. I sot about 100 rounds of 45GAP with 5 magazines of draw/3 quick shots then repeat drills, 250 rounds of 9mm with various drills, and 60 rounds of 357 with 24 of them shooting a gong at the 25 yard mark. About half of the 357 loads were on the bottom end of the magnum spectrum but the ones I shot at the gong were 1200 fps 158 gr plated HP that were at near max load at the end of my shooting session. I felt those for a while on the way back to the city. Fun afternoon.

At the indoor range by us, you can recover your own brass as long as it isn't past the line into the actual range. If your brass goes there, you just lost it. My sons M1 30-06 spits the case forward about 95% of the time (weird), so almost all of that expensive 30-06 brass would be lost. Even if he never plans to reload (he's considering it), he can collect his brass and take it to the recycle center along with the aluminum cans and get paid for it.

30-06 brass is worth a lot more to a reloader than top dollar at the recycler.

A buddy gave me a 5 gallon bucket of brass last year. Half of it was 9mm so I have more 9mm brass than I can use for the rest of my life. The remainder was about 3k of 10mm (enough so that I am planning to buy a 10mm), 2k of 357MAG and 3k of 38SPL (I have already bought a 357), and 1k of 45Colt and 500ish of 454 Casull (too much gun for me). I sold the 45Colt and 454 Casull for $150 which offset a third of the cost of the used 357 S&W I got last fall.

357 cost just a little more than 9mm as the magnum primers are a dollar a box more expensive. If he doesn't go for the mag primers and goes the higher velocity powder route like I did it works out about the same as I used more powder. A soft 357mag load that is above the 38spl+p cost me about 1o to 11 cents per round - keep in mind my primers are over 12 years old and I paid $22.85 for a box of 1000. That same box will cost about $34 today. Bulk order bullets gets them to about 6 to 7 cents and 1 to 2 cents per round in powder he would be able to produce a soft 357mag round for 12 to 13 cents per round. A high end JHP bullet will cost 22 to 35 cents per bullet then another 5 to 6 cents of powder and primer. But with a little experimentation the recipe can be tuned to a gun to give match quality ammo. Store bought match quality is over a dollar a round for 357Mag.

The 30-06 is going to run 30 to 35 cents per round. There is also a lot more case prep for rifle such as annealing, sizing, removing military crimps, and then trimming before you can load a rifle round. My advice is to get experience with pistol before attempting to jump on rifle.

My mom has one she carries daily. Loves it. I have shot it plenty of times and I deemed it I would get one to practice with and keep in my truck or car until I am old enough to get my carry license.

Rounds are cheap and I am a dead shot with it. :)

Yeah, the necked case requires more equipment, skill, time, etc. I agree, build the skills on 9mm/45acp/357 first, then tackle the rifle rounds. He said he's been PMing with you about some of this, so that tells me he is beginning to get serious. LOL

Really? That was the first one I bought for the wife, we both disliked it. Even with the clip that has the pinky extension I would get one good shot, the first one. Then it jumps upward. The only way I could get any groups that made sense at all was 2 handed with a left index finger around the trigger guard. I sold it.
If they can go a little bigger on the cash contribution, get a sig p365. Full 9MM (a 380 round is a short 9mm, still 9mm in diameter but shorter). You get the extra kick, 9mm ammo is the same price as 380 up here, PLUS you get 10 rounds per clip. That's 11 with one in the chamber AND it comes standard with glowing night sights. I keep one on my ankle to compliment the smith 9C on my right side.

If you like the ruger get it of course, just make sure you shoot your moms a few dozen more times before she seals the deal. Try to fire off 4 or 5 within a few seconds and see what happens.

They make a 22 in that frame now I've been thinking of getting one to play with. Wouldn't be as jumpy as the 380.

As for ammo price differences; 9mm here is about .20 per round. 380acp is .35 per round.

If you like the Ruger 380 LCP you need to go to a range that rents guns and try a Ruger LC9. It is basically the same size but in 9mm. It will have slightly more recoil but the difference on the receiving end between a 380 and 9mm is dramatic. The 380's typical bullet is 95 grains and has a velocity of about 1000fps. A 9mm can have anything between the 95gr bullet up to a 147grain bullet. One of the best suited for personal defense is a 124 grain at 1150 fps - the basic FBI load.

There are other 9mm's that are basically the same size such as the Glock 43, Springfield Armory XD Defenders Series 3", Beretta APX, S&W PC M&P Shield, Sig Sauer P938, FNH FNS-9, or Kimber Evo SP CDP. The pricier ones are at the end of the list.

Well. I ordered something I have always wanted!

06+ mirrors from eBay! $50 for the set. I absolutely cannot wait! I plan on installing em hopefully once they get here. I feel like they totally change the look of the truck!

I am soooo excited.
