Yeah, that turned out better than you'd expect.

In more annoying circumstances, i found ATF all over my garage floor, looks like it's leaking from the driveshaft at the gearbox :(

Any idea on how easy this is to fix? just a seal?

Well. Ranger is taking a back step in production. Was wheeling and steering bolt sheared out. No way to move the wheel so corner of front hit a tree. No airbags went off. And I was able to stop the truck in the ditch of the woods before hitting two massive oak trees.
Tow truck took 4 hours. So I cancelled it. Good friend of mine came with bolt and tools. Was out there till 4am. Counting my lucky stars as I drove to work today and made it out with just a few bruises from having my arms in the engine bay.

Glad you're ok. When are you going to do a 4wheel conversion? Everything else on the truck looks ready for it.

A 4x4 swap is def in the plans of the truck. But the act to truly convert it.  I'm looking at about $3,000 total. And that's with installation and welding done by me and dad. Also. Truck is my only vehicle at the moment I can drive to work. While I have full confidence I could do it in a weekend, lack of money and time is what is the issue. So the 4x4 swap isn't at the top of the list just yet. I've got a lonngggg list to do and prepare this truck to be able to perform it's best. I'm doing it right the first time so I don't have to backpedal anymore.

We played in the snow. Not quite the polar vortex but enough to run the 4WD and get in trouble. Lol

Wired two back up lights for better visibility. Made a switch in the dash. Piggybacked the wiring off of my rock lights. They are all ziptied and clean. I love them! Little things to help.

Beginning week2 of snow here and more on the way. We havent had snow stick around this long in years. I'd say late 80s- early 90s. I'm in the low lands not the mountains. It's pretty but I dont make any money staying at home. I do chimney repair and restoration. Even if I can get to work I still cant work on the roof safely.

We barely got 3 inches down in my neck of the woods. The weather people blew it way out of proportion down here.

They always hype the storms like they are the next storm of the century. We got 2 storms back to back & got maybe 3" total from them both.

I did a thing to my baby boy.

Prerunner build has commenced.
😎
Decided on fiberglass fenders. And I am building it up. Next is the 8.8 rear with 4.88. Then wheels and tires. Then I'll save up the 1800 for the basic Camburg kit. Then for shocks and build it from there.

Good to hear you are starting your project... "Baby Boy" !

Remember the Explorer Rear Axle is a little wider (more stability) and comes with large Axle Tubes, 31 spline axles, and sometime Posi and disc brakes, be selective.
It requires a little rework but you end up with an OEM Axle that works... a little better.

Good Luck on the build.

You have to swap the shock perches too

Ive been trying to catch up on my Mod's List.

I re-installed the Newly Hydrographic Lighted Cup Holder.

Trying to make up my mind where I will put the Power Port/Cig Lighter and 4x Indicator LEDs, when I install the newly Hydrographic Radio Bezel ?

After that I will reassembly the Speed-O Only Gauge Cluster and put that in and think on a new Tach for the top-Driver's Side of the Dash.
Yes I made up my mind... Stock OEM Gauge Cluster, just no OEM in an EDGE.

That's enough to keep me and other members of this Site busy for a little while.

Thx for reading.

I'd like to see it once everything is installed. Looks like one of the more original or unique interior upgrades. Glad to see you're getting busy!😊

I found out I don't really know how to mount a Visor over the windshield.
Looking into the problem now !

Replaced the Windshield Washer/Overflow Tank, in the Ranger.
A Packrat got to the tank and chewed the tank.
Tank was from Rock Auto, all was well but I could not get the power connector installed. Had to rework the truck side and now it works.
Had to be from China !

EM Thanks

FINALLY replaced my right front speaker. Thing has been buzzing for a year at least.

The one I replaced it with had the same ford part number but said "made in USA" instead of "Made in Mexico". Was out of a 99 explorer some of us are familiar with.

A little bit of sunshine today, pulled the jalapeno out of the garage and though I destroyed the dome light I got the headliner out in one piece. Time for sound deadning,  run a bazillion wires just in case and finally install the OHC.

Got 4 new Continental pure contact tires (225/45/17) mounted up on some expo rims. It's scary how good it handles how. Time for more power!
