Well the adjuster is working with me to keep it from being totaled. He valued my truck at $5100 and kept the repair estimate to about $2800. That gives me plenty of money to buy a bed, bumper and if needed a tailgate

Installed the running board I picked up for $12.50 at LKQ. Painted it in Harbor freight Truck bed liner paint. The end caps were missing but crazy price for OEM from Ford. Went back to LKQ and got some caps from a Nissan Xterra and oval profile was exactly the same but attaches differently. I cut a knotch at each side so it could seat into the tube and sealed it with silicone. Done one side but rain sent me scrambling before getting to other side.
Nice score. Looks nice!!

I received the new front calipers yesterday & today after work I installed the passengers side, I will install the drivers side tomorrow. I would have done both but the temp was only 39° & it was breezy making it feel colder then it was.

Dustin ( forgot to quote)
I'm not the expert but since no one else chimed in...and you are probably trying to get it before gone.
I think you'll be ok as long as you put the same bed as the model you have. ie, standard cab with standard bed and so forth. Wheel base stayed relatively the same. Hopefully the experts get on soon to confirm.

FYI and future references. The value of your truck in our area is determined by taking the price of trucks as close to yours for sale from 3 dealers and averaging them . If they total it out and Kelly blue book or NADA guide has a higher value you'll know why. You can ask for more $$$ if you have resent receipts from repairs or tires etc.

I found this out when they totaled out my 87 ranger. Best I've ever done on a vehicle! Bought it for $700 with 60k miles drove it another 60k miles and got hit by a drunk driver. Insurance paid me $2800 just for the truck. Sold the cap for $200 more. Lol

Swapped the bed, bumper and tailgate. It's officially a style side. Now I need to rewire the taillights(post coming) and fix the fuel neck

Gotta love a new exhaust that works out!

I have the blue 2006 Ranger here at the property. This is the sohc 4.0, 5 speed, edge with 360K on it that we recently put an engine in...then fuel pump, then front differential and some U joints. Well she is back, there is a popping in high range 4x4 at higher speeds on hard pack snow/slush

It is not CV axles or front cardigan driveshaft...
Its appears the T case (not original) is worn out and the chain is skipping under load....
More on this later, first things first
The truck is at the gate (2 miles from shop) and we have about 12" of snow/slush. The ranger tires are about 30% all season radials.... I have to get it back to the house/shop! Should be interesting.....the things we do for our loyal customers!!!!

Neighbor is installing his tracks now! You better believe it. They live up the mountain 2 miles from us, where as we are in the river valley and do not have the 2 miles to climb.
I have a four sets of tracks of our own for our Polaris machines, have not mounted any yet as I am not convinced this round of snow will stick around long enough. Too warm, its going to be in the 40's for a few days
I am working on our plow truck though, this thing is a real PITA!! 1986 Ford F250 with a 472 (rebuilt 460) and a Boss V plow....keeps dying right out front while pushing snow. I have it narrowed down to the duraspark distributor so will be replacing that today.

The good news is the blue ranger is finally at the house after 3 days of messing with the plow and the road, so I can replace the T case this am

It seems the 02+ Rangers with the SOHC and a 5 speed and some higher miles can have this issue in 4hi under load....I had never heard of a 1354 t case doing that, but now I have seen it myself...the chain is skipping!!
This will be t case #3 for this truck in 360K miles, the first one was run dry and split the case, second one was used from a wrecker and has been skipping the chain since installed. This is probably why we have had to replace U joints and a front diff

I have never seen a caliper even crack, let alone split in half!!! Must have been a bad casting from the factory???

I got the manual hubs put in the '00 4x4 and unhooked the vacuum to it. Putting a few drops of oil in them like the instructions and Tech. said to do made them stick so I had to turn around and clean them out again :'(.

I put the ladder rack on. I had to haul some 12' 2x8s and 8' 4x4s to help rebuild a neighbors deck that has dry rotted. Once we finish the frame it will be the 12' synthetic deck material.
