Well put. My Ranger is car #4. It's nothing special. I use it to haul an occasional box and to tow the jet ski. otherwise it gets me to and from work.

I've read horror stories with spacers but that's when A: people buy Chinese junk on Ebay and B: people don't know how to install them correctly. ie; centered and torqued properly.

We have lightweight trucks. a 1" spacer should cause no issues as long as it centered and torqued correctly.

I don't blame people with concern. But again, a Ranger is no heavy duty machine.

There's a company called Supreme Suspension that has them for Rangers. Made from a solid block of Billet T6. USA made as well. They're lug centric but most applications also fit hub centric. They list for $80 on their site for all 4 but I found their company on Ebay where they're listed for $70 and free shipping. They have them in black and in plain silver. I'll keep searching, but I like these so far.

My son has been driving me around in the Ranger (permit), pulling in and out of parking spaces rubs a little at full lock.

So after talking myself out of buying spacers, I went ahead and ordered them anyway.

I installed the spacers. I was thinking 1" would more noticeable. I wish I would have went with 1.5" to avoid cutting the lugs, too late now!

I only cut off the non-threaded portion of the lugs though, I may have got into 1 thread on a few of them.

The fronts don't rub anymore at full lock. I can see a slightly more aggressive stance but only because I see it everyday. No one else noticed when I brought it up.

I'll take that as "I told you so" ? 1.25" would still have required a cut, 1.5" seemed a bit drastic, especially on skinny tires (275/65R16). I'm happy, since I've never used spacers before I'm still skeptical but since I went with a small spacer, I'm not too worried.

Looks good, but i'd disagree that you can barely see it.

Unless your aim was to stick them outside of the bodywork, then i'd say you've got a good setup, you should already be able to feel the stability increase round corners :)

I do feel the difference. And no, I did not want to poke them out. I was worried 1" would be a bit drastic, but I love it. I don't think 1.5" would have been too much.

Doesn't matter, I already cut the lugs and they're installed and torqued.

Today I removed the wheels and re-torqued the spacers to make certain everything was good.

Next on the list will be rear rotors and pads. Those are kind of rusty and I think they're slightly warped, at least it feels like it when I hit the brakes.

because it came to me for probably NO reason other than being apart the last 2 days but..,

2WD, stock Ford wheels, factory wheel studs, with 1.25" wheel adapters.
NOTE:: The stud position and how it fits perfectly in the back of every factory and even aftermarket wheel with the indentations.

FWIW, the 4x4 models (my 2011 anyway) have longer front studs, at 1 3/8". So even with 1.25" spacers I would have had to grind a little bit of the studs off.

So far so good with my spacers though. No issues.

That is good to know and something else to research for myself based upon actual years that may have been as well... thanks, that makes me wonder if that was only two wheel drive

Easy enough to find out though, pop a wheel off and measure.

It could be based of the GVW (what springs/leafs/t-bars are on the truck), what axle (7.5 or 8.8) or just 2 or 4wd, or maybe even by model (XL, STX, XLT, FX4, Sport). There's no telling.

i can measure the 94' 4x4 axle and the 93' 2wd one too but I think Maxxx is onto something with the difference of a drive hub vs a spindled hub.. ill see if I can verify that through the 3rd gen parts.
