I'm really not looking to buy tires it's more I have to buy new tires. Almost 4 years ago I bought a se of BF Goodrich all terrain t/a's 265/75/16 I have about 85,000 miles on them and they are getting smooth. I priced a new set of bfg's today and man did they go up in price just about $920 out the door. I'm really not thrilled about spending that much for new tires. What do you guys run or recommend for a alternative?

Theres 100,000' of people that dont get that mileage out of a car for whatever reasons.. id say you got your money's worth considering you put 85k on a vehicle in 4 years?! Sounds similar to this vehicle saved my life in an accident, I think I'm gonna buy a KIA..!

lmao

I think from what I've seen & heard of you.., you work your ass off [NO asses were harmed in the making of this comment..] - have something to show for it. my $ .02

Toyo or Nitto, many of their tires are made in USA and will outlast the competition

I put on a set of 265/75R-16 Cooper Discoverer AT-3's on my 2000 Ranger 4x4 a couple years ago. I have put on about 20K miles without noticing any wear. I purchased them from Discount Tire Direct & had them shipped to my house & had my local tire store install them for me. You can get them cheaper if you check out their rebates with the tires.

I've had 3 sets of Hercules tires. I've been very happy with them so far, and my next set will be another set of hercules. I've had the all tracs (no longer available), Terra trac T/G MAX, and I have a pair of A/T2's. the T/G Maxes, the most expensive set, I was at like $125 installed a corner. so right at $500 installed.

X2. I have very good luck with those tires on my sons Silverado. On my second set.

he got 85k in less than 4 years on a set of tires he's already skipping on.. lol For a couple guys on here that kind of mileage is like having one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel in value of time.

Dear Lord!!!  How the fudge did you get 85k on a set of tyres, that's just not right.

I know you can get more miles out of tyres in this country (no corners or high speeds) but that's ludicrous.

Anyway, i spent around $500 on Bridgestone Dueller Revo II's and they're great on road and in snow/ice.

Hell, I could only get 60K on the Mini Cooper and 52K on the Fusion before I gave up on their unreliable service and traded them in. I applaud 85K on a set of tires!

My wife's focus hated tires no matter brand you on it. 15,000-20,000 is all we could out of a set

This mileage seems fairly nominal for cars over here, it was less back in the UK.

I looked at the coopers pretty hard, but my discount tire steered me towards the Pathfinder A/T's. I think I paid less than $550 for a set of 265's. I've got 10k+ on them and they look great. I drove them across country with no road noise issues. Living out here in VA i get some pretty torrential rains and also have no issues. I've only put them in the snow once or twice, but I never felt like I needed more tire. Obviously they are AT and as such, so I wouldn't go hard core off roading, but for my day to day use on my ranger, they've been great.

I posted a thread elsewhere about buying them.

I had pathfinders on my Dodge 1500. They were great but my front end was so bad I should have fixed that before I bought tires. Fronts were out in a year, rears still looked new.
