I'm looking to do a clutch job on my 02 B3000. I've pretty much decided on buying the LuK 07140 clutch kit (seems to be the same as factory), but i've heard its best to buy an OEM slave cylinder instead of aftermarket. I looked on ford's website but I couldn't find the clutch slave cylinder there. Where can I find the OEM Ford clutch slave cylinder and how much should I expect to pay for one?

And if anyone would like to suggest a different brand clutch kit or slave cylinder, please do so! I want to gather as much information as possible and do the job right.

You can get a AMS master and slave with line pre bled

Like 410 said you can order one from rock auto. They will have the same part as ford used or you can choose from other brands. Or you can order one from your local Ford dealer. But rock auto will save you some money.

Ok, so I looked on rockauto and didn't see a motorcraft branded slave cylinder. I wouldn't mind buying the LUK slave cylinder if its good but I'm a little worried by its very low price and lack of a dust boot. Does the boot really matter and is the LUK clutch slave going to last a long time?

And since I plan on getting a new flywheel, will I need to shim it or will that not be an issue?

I think I've found the OEM slave cylinder after calling the dealer for the part number (9L5Z-7A508-A).

Look at your factory clutch disc
It says LUK on it

LUK is OEM or equivalent
YOU NEED to replace the master and the slave at then same time
You are SMART for wanting to use the OEM slave cylinder
It is not a complex part, the price should not be hundreds of dollars like parts stores and some dealers always try to get
