Well there is a similar truck on YouTube https://youtu.be/3g7c1DJzYsM that made 230/270 to the tire. Now I'm 4wd so I'd expect idk 5-10 less than that. Im not expecting big numbers just a fun little truck.

now I do have a spare 302 block ready for a stroker kit...

Ok on the 350 HP ~, that sounds like it will be great truck.

I usually run in the same area for HP, may last one I increased the connecting rod length by 0.500", in theory the long rod should increase the jewel time at the bottom and top go the stroke, in turn increasing HP and Torque. Time will tell,  it is still in the barn on the stand.

The spare block and a stroker kit... is it a newer block, similar to the 5.0L blocks, the newer blocks have a better rear main seal and replacement is easier than older 302s.

I always wanted to build a 327 cu. in. engine, a 331 stroker kit but without boring the block 0.030" over.   I think that would be a great sized Small Block Ford.

A friend of mine built an '86 B-II, put in a Jasper Engine 5.0L, 345 HP, it was more than powerful enough.   His truck was on the cover of I think it was 4WD, but it was one of the Off-Road Magizines.

Good Luck, the truck is coming along great, can't wait to hear how the motor sounds !

The spare block is a 1996, I'll wait till this motor is plenty worn to start a build on it. Probably get a cheaper set of aluminum heads for it as well.

OK on the aluminums heads, two things, first...nothing makes the Ford Small Block Come alive more than a good set of aftermarket heads,  second Cast Iron Heads will make more HP for the street than aluminum heads; just something to think on.

There are some great aftermarket Cast Iron Performance Head out there, when the time comes check them out too !

Out of curiosity what's your reasoning on iron heads on the street vs aluminum heads?

I don't have any data to back up what I have stated, also, I am referencing Aftermarket Heads not FORD Cast-Iron Heads.

I've read articles about it and watch a number of programs on the TV about Performance Heads, and there was one article in a Truck Magazine, it showed that the Cast-Iron Heads made more HP at lower rpm levels... once you get up in the rpm range, the aluminum he'd flow better.
TrickFlow makes a Street Performance Head that almost equals the Cast-Iron Head at lower rpm's.

I will find out when I do my LAST engine swap, because I have the TrickFlow Street Heads on my latest build... time will tell.   If I did it again, I might have gone Cast-Iron.

YOU need to do it your way, I am just suggesting to look into different avenues before laying down the cash.   Also Head designs have come a long way, so who am I to even say anything.

Good Luck on this and the next build.

Well it definitely gives me plenty to think about! Truth be told I'm fine with either or on a mild street build. Now my foxbody is a different story, dart block, full forged rotating assembly, all good for 1200hp. Oh I mention I got a twin turbo kit for it hehehehe.

Pictures PLEASE... my fastest time that I have driven a car at the drags is 11.5 seconds, 115 mph... maybe, and my fastest build was a 351 Cleveland and I hit 12.2.

BUT 1200 HP, man-o-man, Now we are talking, I can't imagine.

What times an dhow fast are you thinking you will be running the lights at ?

I'm thinking here... I shouldn't be trying to tell you anything !

Stay safe my good man !

Sadly the only picture I got is a lot of parts waiting to be assembled hahaha. I really don't care to drag the car but I'll probably will at least once. I want to finish this ranger build, buy a house.
heck I still gotta find a manual transmission for the foxbody that can put up with that abuse.

Would any one know of a replacement steering shaft bellow? Mines torn badly and now is a good time to replace it.

Nice, a lift always helps.
With the body off the frame you can look at it all and fix anything needed.

Amen! Thankfully I'm not seeing anything beside the steering bellow that needs replaced. It's nice to see my years of oil coating the frame pay off since it's rust free!

wicked cool!! So lucky to be able to take the cab off
I collect the steering shafts from low mile trucks, I have never had to buy a new one... let me see if I can source a good one for you, I just used up the last good one I HAD in the v6 truck

I have not forgotten about the wire lookup, just got pretty busy last few days. I am headed to look at a ranger this am, I will look those wires up this week I promise

4.0Power,

Don't forget to check out the rear of the frame too, easy to take off the Bed to get it done IF the rear section is rusted as a lot of other Rangers are.

I had some work done on my Ranger a few months back, the mechanic looked at me and said there's a lot of rust under here... my replay was simple, The truck has lived in New England for 15 or the 17 years of life... any more questions.

I need to get under mine sooner than later, check out the frame and "All this rust" I was told about.

Hopefully the body would be too bad.

Thankfully I've coated the frame in motor oil since I've owned it. The rear frame looks just like the rest. Now the bed is a different sorry... it's time for that to go lol.

The oil on the frame is probably the only thing that would stop the Ranger's frame from rusting.

Was just looking back a couple of posts.

Make sure to get all of your Freeze Plugs replaced and that Trheaded Plug, take it out and reseal it, all before the engine goes in.

The Machine Shop is doing the Cam Bearing too , right... so have them do the Freeze Plugs.   It may be an easy job but while the block is being worked on it take the load off of you !
