There's a guy at work that has a dropped audi I've heard about 3/4 of those terms.

I do know your HX52 though you would do better with a smaller exhaust side unless you really like waiting for it to spool up... curiosity what brought you to the HX52?

Is that the one you posted about the tire and rim project on the other forum?

@Mike69: Back when I played with "fast" cars, those terms didn't exist! More like Holley, Edelbrock, Crane, Moroso, etc.

The reason I went with the hx52 is cause of the comp of the engine . More compression less boost . Just need more fuel and finer tuning in the fuel maps . I redline at 8500 rpm . Boost don't kick til about 3500 up . But for the most parts night highway runs and rolls I'm in boost 2nd gear .and stay in boost each gear . So I feel I've made a good combo I can work with .

I did take the hx52 off and swap a hx35 on the current motor . but it was to small on the top end . Built boost by 2500 and topped out around 6500 . So I'm putting the hx52 back on on the new rebuild . I'm chasin the dream of being totally scared. Highway brawler he is

New age lol . Even though it's 87 . Hks,greddy, trust, etc is the Japanese parts market for me and the rotary .
I  dabble in rotarys, sbf, chevy ls's . Maybe just cause that's what I own and don't  discriminate anything . There's fast 4,6,8,and rotarys out there in the world that can beat on one another . I've learned just bring  what bring 🍻

Send me the 35 when you get the 52 back on and... well... that's what we do here:

Bet I can get that curve a little better for ya. Do you monitor exhaust backpressure? Wondering how much more the 35 did than the 52 but would depend on what turbine housing it has on it. We are the biggest distributor in the US for aftermarket Garrett turbos also, but there's something about those Holsets that light the fire. All of our pulling turbos are based (loosely) on Holset designs but we add "things" lol like billet compressor wheels we cut in house.

You had me at hello lol . As you know holset specs are in cm compared to most other turbo  manufactures that run a/r based maps so finding that  balance has been hard  . With my rotary in a/r specs it wants like 1.10-15 housing . What I got on the hx52 in cm is a 16 cm if I remember right which is supposed to be right around that from my research . I know holset has a upgraded race spec like hx52 with a lil bigger comp housing and blades . But from what I know I got billet  components all ready stock right ? I rebuilt the hx35 at the shop with a holset kit and have it sold already to a focus rs friend . But any info you could shed on upgrades for the hx52 would be a plus ŠðŸ¼ðŸ»
The hx35 is a 12 or 14 cm if I remember right . And weldedThe wastegate colder since I'm running a external gate

I'll check the turbo guru's notes tomorrow and see what if any tricks exist for the 52. A little goes a long way. This probably deserves its own thread LOL looks like the "other vehicle" thread has been hijacked!

I have a couple.
The 1994 F150 that's been in the family since it was new. My uncle worked at the Ford plant in Chicago as an engineer and ordered it new. A year or so later he died and mom & dad bought it from the Estate. A few years before dad died he sold it to me. It's got a tow package,5.0 engine and I put coil over shocks in the back too. I sold the cap off of it.

I've also got a 2,000 Polaris 325 Trail Boss I bought new. It flooded out real bad when it was cold real bad when I got it. I ran a test on it to see if it was running rich and it was but the dealer only adjusted the choke. I knew it was in the carburetor settings though but I let it go for years. Finally a few years ago the float stuck so I rebuilt it and sure enough, they had the float setting to high from the factory. Now it runs a lot better. I drag deer out with it,plow snow and just ride it for fun. I doubt I've got 300 hours on it.

Slightly old thread, but always interesting to see what everybody has.

My DD is a 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis. I really like this car. Belonged to the local Ford dealer's father.

I have two other cars. First is my '70 Chrysler 300 convertible. This car is a ball to drive. Just sit back and cruise all day at 80. This was taken at Carlisle. I have a lot of work in this car.

The second is a '65 Plymouth Barracuda. I bought this car from a friend last fall. Nice California car that mice had gotten into and destroyed a lot of the interior. I still have a little paint work to do and the rear window needs to be put back in and it will be done.
