Define "low mile". 90,000 almost impossible. I see high 130's frequently.

Still would take a grand to get it there, would be better to gather 4 or 5 sets then load it in a large box truck and take a drive out west. Hotels and fuel, still a grand round trip eating lean.

150K or under is a good place to start every once in a while a real gem will hit the market, have seen 65K and 99K drool drool drool
We have 5.0L engines running around with 270K on them, I've seen the transmissions last that long too...
I am not afraid to revive a 140K motor any trans over 140 I would at least have gone through but anything over 150 we pretty much use as cores these days and refresh/rebuild

I agree that would look great!
this thing was done on a budget, now it has wipers, heat, instrument cluster a nice wooden bed insert and a bunch of other stuff he has been working on. I was responsible for making it run and clearing the front clip with the wiring tuck, battery re locate, abs delete, intake, plumbing and brake system mods
There was a lot of wiring removed from the 97 harness...quite a few hours on that one
it ended up using a mustang II booster which was 9" in diameter with a classic looking master cylinder also. It came out slick!!
Would love to help/build another one of these

I'm getting the link to his build thread from Chris now I will post it up
Its basically the 97 explorer with only part of the firewall and floor left
Then the 40 body/cab was grafted on top
Pretty awesome result
I keep telling him to clear coat it

Keegan has one but I'm dreading the drive to Michigan. If Adam can snag one it would be worth the drive since he could bring it to me in an afternoon.

I wanted a true trac but by design a torsen is just as good and is already in the rear end lol. Makes it a winner for me.

For you tru trac makes a unit for a 28 spline 8.8 unless you are putting a V8 behind it I bet it would be just as tough.

I'm assuming someone already told me that getting a 500 dollar trutrac isn't just plug and play?

Nope not plug and play. Worse case you would have a lot of slop or the gear would be too tight and wear out quickly.

I would try it myself but I have indicators and calipers and micrometers.

What do you want to know about the 40 ford? I have many pics of the work I did to make the body fit on the 97 Expo frame... I did the wiring and plumbing, the owner did the physical fitting
