Yea springs for sure , rockers just depends on cam size I go with . But have thought about running a 1.6 intake & 1.7 exhaust combo . Seen some sbf guys run that with stock gt40 heads . I'll most like go comp  of the self grind just for easy replacement if something happens . Not really lookin for high hp/tq numbers . But looking for a higher smooth rpm around 6500-7k area,  guess more circle track build like .

The last 5.0L I built the cam had lift numbers of .508 Int and .511 Exh.
It was designed to bring in extra torque on the lower end and a little more HP on the top end.
I think the estimated HP was going to be in the 345 Range, just where I want ed it, never got it to the Dyno to check it out but it felt great when you laid into it !

Dreaded Sled,
I do not know but would think low end Torque would be your friend, I know OEM Specs can live longer and you MAY not need more than OEM specs but... just wondering what kind of numbers you look for from the engine ?

Thx / Ltr

Not really worried about numbers as much as I am reliability with how I beat on him . I wanting to have a motor I can go out beat on him one night and go to Lowe's the next morning and know it will take it . This motor when put in had just over 200k from the previous owner. I've put a good hard 35-40k on him on top of that . The only thing I changed/swapped out before it went in was the oil pump, Fox oil pan, upper intake gasket . I've looked into letter cams ( e or b ) as far as keepin it pretty factory spec . Even as far as thinking go cobra rockers which are 1.7's and crane even though factory installed. I need more rpm in the end , and it be a usable power band more so from mid to high .

And I did a lil
Weekend burner to start the weekend off right before closing the gate for the night.

Replaced the r/s hub & bearing assembly w/new sensor, since the replacement abs sensor I purchased did not fit my original hub & bearing. Oh well it had 149K on it anyway. At least now the abs light is out & I do not get the abs engaging when almost to a stop.

I got my roll up tonneau cover on today. The bed liner added a some challenges to mounting. First, I had to notch the rails to clear the rounded corners at the front of the bed.

A call to TonnoSport verified that and they gave me some other measurements to use. As it turns out, my bed is an inch narrower at the front than it should be. So with the bedliner and it being a bit narrow, I had to cut 3/4" off the front bar... 3/8" off each end.

After all that, the cover came out pretty decent.

Broomed and rinsed the dirt and woodchips out of the bed this weekend. It's a work truck.

Took my tires off and re-torqued the 1" spacers I just added about 80 miles ago.

Also rotated the tires while I was at it.

Handle better? Ehh, I mean I can tell they're there. I'm just glad the tires don't rub when at full lock.

The only problem is it may or may not be in stock. If Costco does not have it in stock they cannot order it as Interstate controls the stock levels. The Costco nearest to me does not carry it nor does the next closest Costco. There was a Costco on the other side of Atlanta that had 14 of them but I was not going to drive two and a half hours to save $22 over the Pep Boys battery.

I've never tried it on a ranger hub but if it is like any other sure. What do you have to lose.

See if one is available, that's a good indication if they are replaceable or not.

The wheel studs are standard studs. They can be beaten out with a hammer and a new one installed.

The bolt head rounded off trying to take off the old hub & bearing & I could not get a good grab on it with the socket to torque it down properly, so I wanted to replace the bad bolt.

Today? Drove her!
Today?  My son did both upstream O2s and plugs for me.  What a wonderful thing.....140K on the clock and original factory O2s & plugs changed.
Needless to say, my lil red truck is a happy runner!  LOTS more pep/response....the CEL is out and I'm waiting to see the gain in MPG.
Hope everyone had a great Father's Day!

I made another run to Lowe's for more home repair supplies. I haven't used the ladder rack before this month in almost a year and this is the third time this month I have had something 10' or longer to haul.

Starting making a new front chin spoiler/lip . Got it off a e250 van . Need to make some more relief cuts in the corners where it wraps around . I like how it has the 3 lil speed holes as I call them
