Yea springs for sure , rockers just depends on cam size I go with . But have thought about running a 1.6 intake & 1.7 exhaust combo . Seen some sbf guys run that with stock gt40 heads . I'll most like go comp  of the self grind just for easy replacement if something happens . Not really lookin for high hp/tq numbers . But looking for a higher smooth rpm around 6500-7k area,  guess more circle track build like .

The last 5.0L I built the cam had lift numbers of .508 Int and .511 Exh.
It was designed to bring in extra torque on the lower end and a little more HP on the top end.
I think the estimated HP was going to be in the 345 Range, just where I want ed it, never got it to the Dyno to check it out but it felt great when you laid into it !

Dreaded Sled,
I do not know but would think low end Torque would be your friend, I know OEM Specs can live longer and you MAY not need more than OEM specs but... just wondering what kind of numbers you look for from the engine ?

Thx / Ltr

Not really worried about numbers as much as I am reliability with how I beat on him . I wanting to have a motor I can go out beat on him one night and go to Lowe's the next morning and know it will take it . This motor when put in had just over 200k from the previous owner. I've put a good hard 35-40k on him on top of that . The only thing I changed/swapped out before it went in was the oil pump, Fox oil pan, upper intake gasket . I've looked into letter cams ( e or b ) as far as keepin it pretty factory spec . Even as far as thinking go cobra rockers which are 1.7's and crane even though factory installed. I need more rpm in the end , and it be a usable power band more so from mid to high .

And I did a lil
Weekend burner to start the weekend off right before closing the gate for the night.
