Not a ranger story but.... bought a brand new honda civic for my wife in 2013. On an extremely long trip the message center would go up to like 46MPG I have a picture somewhere.

In 2014 they called me and offered me a 2014 for less money, brand new so I traded. We kept that pig for 3 years and never got over 32 MPG even on long trips

Same trim, same motor, only difference was the 2014 had a CVT which theoretically should have given it slightly better mileage. Nope.

So the same probably applies to all cars and trucks, drive 2 off the lot one is going to out do the other in some way.

I know that's how it is with my truck. My dad bought a ranger tremor new in 04 set up the same as mine 4.0 5 speed auto ext cab 4x4 with 4.10 gears and he gets 18 mpg driving the same roads I drive and he never let's out of it held to the wood all the time.

You got that right about 2 vehicles of the same make model and configuration getting vastly different fuel mileage. I bought a new '88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. I had a cousin that had also gotten an 88 T-bird TC. Both cars had the same rear axle with auto transmission.

I got 18-20 city mileage and about 24-25 on the highway. Most of my driving was highway. My cousin had a 35 mile commute of back country roads to work and was getting in the upper 40's on mpg on average. I convinced my cousin to swap cars for a week. She got 24-25 mpg in my car. I got over 40 with hers. Everything was "right" in that car's engine.

I had an 88 turbo coupe in high school with a 5 speed 26 mpg and not a z28 that could touch it

I never knew step bars would be different between the 2 cabs until I bought a set from a guy off of Facebook. They wouldn't even come close to fitting

I parked the Ranger for the long weekend on Thursday. I had to run an errand for the wife. The battery had enough juice to spin it over 5 or 6 times before it gave up. I hooked power up to the trickle charger. I will check it just before dark and see were it is at.

Besides the clock the only thing that would draw power is my Blutooth ODBII plug that has been in the truck for the past few months.

Hmmm the G button has the same size restrictions as the attachments... they are re sized before they are uploaded.

The battery may be draining itself, the one out of my expo does. Full charge, you can pull it and let it sit for a week... dead without anything plugged in. The sediment from the lead/acid reaction builds up on the bottom and when it gets high enough to touch the plates... drainage begins. Might appear intermittent because depending on how shaken up the battery gets the sediment might be evenly spread and not touching the plates all the time.

I am just surprised the battery has lasted this long. That Motorcraft battery will be 10 years old this summer.

I just replaced the battery in my 06 that the good folks at Ford installed in it at the factory a few weeks ago. I left the key one night and it killed it. Replaced it with an Optima red top

When I checked the charge last night I was just under 12 volts so I left it on the trickle charger. I checked it about a half hour ago and the charger is in float mode so it was at full charge. The volt meter has the battery at 12.8 volts so I should be good to go.

So at the event on Sunday on the 3rd run (2 Laps per run ) my truck decided to only rev out to 2500-3000 . Screwed the  pooch on that run . Get back to Austin Barely . Ran fine for the most part yesterday first day back at work . Go to work today half way there can't get past 1500-2000 rpm . . Get my friend that tows to pick me up and tow it to the shop. Put a fuel gauge on it reads 38-40 psi cold revvin  . Once warm it cuts out and drops down to 8 psi . 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Atleast I figured it out  . Got a new pump coming tomorrow it's a 255lph  now like the rx7 and if need be goin to add a aftermarket fpr just Incase . Cam and need mods for it are coming soon . Collecting data to make the right purchases

Also forgot to mount the damn go pro 🤦‍♂️☹️😣😩😡

I picked up a pair of 1999 Explorer powered seats at PYP over the Memorial weekend sale. $40.00 for the pair thru the door.
Installation was a breeze and I pulled the power from the delay relay for the mirrors. That way the seats have power even when key is removed. Has power until the door is opened. Installation was a breeze. Just had to open the holes to accept the Ranger's larger bolt size and the drivers side holes were off by just a bit on 1 rail.

Man what a difference in driving comfort.
