Didn't do squat to mine. Didn't even drive it today. It's going to piss me off and I'll end up selling it. I can't stand having dash lights on...if something is broken I fix it. But this time the Ranger itself doesn't even know its broken. WTH

Take a deep long breath or three. You will find the issue or a fix around it.

Thanks Tony. Its just frustrating chasing something that even the vehicle can't figure out.

I pulled the front two ABS/Speed sensor leads off today. I tested the resistance on them but they were both way high, 5480 and 5570 ohms.

When I had previously removed them they were greased up from the hub, should they be clean and dry or is grease okay?

I didn't check the rears yet, the plugs are a but harder to get to. Maybe tomorrow.

I don't want to spend $$$ on both the front ABS sensors just for that to not be the issue! I hate electrical issues! haha

I don't know of any sensors that work ok when they're not clean.

I typically use some "F21". It's made by Turtle wax. It's a pretty good interior product and doesn't attract dust like Armorall does. It says it can be used to shine tires as well but I've never tried. Also, it's not greasy.

303 Protectant, you won't bother with anything else after you've used it, and it's great on the tyre walls too.

Thanks to both on suggestions, I will check them out !
I do like the idea of anti-static and I do like Turtle Wax Products, we get a lot of dust out here so I am hoping for a good anti-static protectant !

The 303 Protectant, is that anti-static ?

Most things are anti static these days, you shouldn't have to look for it specifically called out, maybe moreso on the older brands - i don't have any static issues with it, it's water based.

Checked the oil for the first time on the road trip. I am 1917 miles in and the truck hasnt used any oil. Pretty impressed considering it's lugging an extra 500lbs of junk and doing 75+ the whole time.

Why in gods name does the stupid ac compressor on these trucks run in any heater setting?

It runs on more of the vent settings than not :(  5 of the vent settings automatically enable AC - totally unnecessary and unwanted.
Very simple to do, just find the purple wire from the back of the vent control in the HVAC panel, break it and wire in a switch

I think "face only" doesn't activate the compressor.

I think "face only" doesn't activate the compressor.

The A/C runs to dehumidify the air and not in all positions, mostly  going to the defroster to keep the windshield clear.

The temperature of the air is regulated by the Temperature Control but the compressor still runs.

There is a "How-To" in Ranger-Forums.com to install a button to control the A/C in the circuit, might be a good one to try out your Navy Electronics Education on, Dustin !

Added and Correction:

I can not find the How-To I was talking about.
I PM'd the guy I thought wrote it and requested his opinion on shutting off the A/C at anytime is would normally come on.
This guy is a wealth of knowledge on Ford so I am hoping if he didn't write one and doesn't know of one... he will know the best route to the to install a switch to shut off the A/C when you don't want it !
I kind of want this too but I thought it was a How-To already written !

When and IF something turns up I will post.

Ltr

OK... FOUND IT... but it isn't a How-To.

The person that posted to help me out was V8 Level II from both of the Sites I go to.

Here is what he said to do:

"For 2003, cut the purple wire behind the HVAC control panel and interrupt it with a simple SPST on-off switch. Done."
So, Your isn't a 2003 so I can't say for sure it is the purple but it is something to look into, IT CAN BE DONE !

Sounds simple enough, Dustin and all interested. hoping this will give you something to keep you busy while back to duty !

Thanks to V8 Level II.

I need to do a search to see if there is a fix for the corner lights. I hate how they lean forward after driving a while

I changed the oil and filter today. I changed the differential oil and air filter earlier this week. The only thing left is the fuel filter and I will get that when it is cooler outside tomorrow morning.

In the process of putting the gun rack in the '99 Ranger yesterday and with 1 more hole to drill my cordless drill died. I'll finish it today.
