I'm staring at that wanting to be under it with coffee cans while it's being machined so I can recycle the brass chips. It's gotten to the point where I see scrap metal value in everything I see.

It could be made from a much smaller diameter rod if it didn't need that lump in the middle.

Can I engrave the FR logo on the opposite side of the sensor hole?

You do engraving, eh? I might have to send you an 80% lower to be engraved at some point...

Haha, lower engraving... hmm...

And i think it would be cool, an honestly, required, for F-R made adaptors to have the logo! Trying to think where would be the best place in order to be seen? (rotation-wise)

I see what you did there...... can you take a 3MM carbide ball nose going about 5000 rpm? LOL

I engrave a lot actually. The art is what is hard, the toolpath is easy.

I put this on top of a cummins 12V one of the guys I worked with put in his ford truck:

I copied the wheel part from a garrett dxf I had but drew the logo:

This I found on some art website and rastered to vectored it LOL

I put these on the side of a customers "billet" injection pump:

And this is an EGR block off for a 5.0 I used the scorpion on:

I could launch a whole host of FR products but they would be too pricey for the average wallet. Mine especially.

Are you sure about that 1.5 inch OD on the adapter? Seems large, is this going on a heater hose or radiator hose? I have radiator hoses I can test it with.

Should be 38mm (1.5 inches) and it's for the top rad hose (not heater) Hence why i was wondering about the engraving location - sensor sticks out around 1 inch or so.

Max, the sensor really should be mounted upside down. Reason being if the coolant gets a bit low, the top hose won't be completely full. Orienting the sensor to the bottom will allow the coolant to cover the sensor even if it is somewhat low.

That being said, if Jim is going to engrave the FR logo on it, directly opposite the sensor would place the logo on TOP... allowing you to see it (and smile) every time you are under the hood.

Can the sensor go downward or is right or left the only option?

I don't know any reason why it couldn't point down, we've plenty of space in there, so yeah, sure.

The only problem left I see is this thing is going to get hot. Being brass it will conduct almost 100% of the heat from the water to the outside. It could very well be 30 or 40 degrees hotter than the rubber hose right beside it.

Other than "don't touch that, it's hot", do you see any downside to the heat transfer?

If it's hot, it means the engine is already stinking hot, any idiot that touches something in a hit engine bay can go sing for it.

If brass is the right material for this functionally, I'm good.
