It has occurred to me that what i have left planned to do to the truck, is either in the engine bay, or in the cab....
I'm not one for raiding the shiny-plastic section of Autozone, and anything i do i really prefer to be subtle - so i probably don't have much in the way of options here. However, i'd like to try, and you lot know a lot more than i do about what's available and what would work.
A few points first:
1) I won't lift it.2) I won't go with larger diameter tyres.3) '06 mirrors are planned at some point, in black textured plastic.4) I really can't spent much money on this.

Any ideas left? :D

So besides looking "pretty" in the driveway as a super clean truck.. whatcha use it for?

I see lots of hobbies in your bio so to speak but doesnt seem like you're into or need anything in the sense of specific organization, racking systems, have a real use for additional aux lighting, additional fuel requirements, or tricked out added features.

It sounds like you may have $50 burning a hole in your pocket but difficult to give a "Stock-Nazi" suggestions (s)he has no need for...  lmao

You make too many good points, are you my Wife??

But, essentially you're right, please don't hate on me too much - i really only need the truck for hauling stuff occasionally, driving in more inclement weather (need to drive in snow/weather "emergencies" for job) and sometimes the trail up to a shooting spot might be easier with a truck.

The photo makes it look in good condition, but it's really not that clean, plenty of little dings, dents and rust i'm afraid.

HA.. negative, I think I'd be too high maintenance for you. LMAO

Wouldn't hate on ya for being a simple man but as a project coordinator and working my way through being a product specialist as usual, I do have some suggestions even for the purposes you now describe.

And thats why most limo's used to be white, it hid all of the dents and dings.. lol

Some kind of aux lighting *might* be interesting, thinking more for emergency stuff in bad weather/night etc? Can't think what the most useful would be without going crazy though.

Bed lights are LED :)
Tonneau cover needs to be repaired, maybe i have to put the work in for that :(

What LED taillight solutions do you have?

Are there cooler mudflaps for this that aren't Yosemiti Sam? ;)
**Edit - sorry missed your post underestimated, i did PM you, but anything else you wanna offer up?

I was thinking of aux lights behind the grille like loomdog32 suggested, like what I did on my Ranger. How about some kind of vinyl graphic for the side of the truck or on the hood like I did to my Ranger. Get some vinyl wrap & cover the raised section of the powerdome hood, or a lower body stripe like the older (65-69) Mustang GT's had. Black on the white hood would stand out.

Hmm, i like the pin strip idea, what would be sutle enough :)

I wonder if Bugman can come up with anything for lights behind the grill? or taillights.

Actually, whilst i'm thinking about this - i have those stupid orange film covered bulbs in the front headlights.

Most of that film has peeled off, so it doesn't look so good.

Now i normally replace bulbs with LED's in situations like this, but i think orange LED's of this spec will be spendy and/or ineffective, Bugman?!

First order of external business is a light bar behind the grille, oh and to plasti-dip the grille, it's so faded from the sun.

Got to work on measuring the internal width to see how much space i have for the bar, order the biggest i can fit, then pull it off, plasti-dip and fit bar in one operation.

Westin Ultimate Bull Bar. Never seen a truck that didn't look badass with one of these, stock or otherwise.

AVS vent visor and bugflector II.

Baked lights.

Matt black plasti-dip fender flares and bottom bumper.

Valence trim.

That's about all that comes to mind from looking at your truck.

Bull bar sounds interesting, maybe in the future, $290 is a lot.

Those vent visor thingies have no use for me.

Baked lights?

Valance trim?

Thanks for the suggestions.

I think he meant "Blacked" out lights assuming tail lights..

The visors are nice for venting windows a little under the radar so people avoid reaching in to unlock the door, also nice during rain to vent cab. just to add to that.

Not a fan of the damage multiplier (bull bar). I could think of many better ways to mount extra lights and still make it look presentable without a $300 light bracket. lol

I think i'll be getting the mirrors, though not colour matched, not worth the price difference.

What's better about the +06 tails?

Are you kidding me? The vent visors are awesome, they let you roll down the window a good inch or so without letting any rain or snow in the truck, and significantly cut down on wind buffeting at speed with the window fully open. I love mine, $50 well spent. But then I always thought they looked cool so maybe it's a matter of taste.

"Baked lights" is a headlight and corner light mod. You take your headlights and corner lights off, put them in the oven at 275 for about 10 minutes, and it will unglue the lens from the reflector. Once they're apart you can paint the non-reflector surfaces black. End result looks like this: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/rWCSs5groQ0/maxresdefault.jpg

Alternatively you can buy them pre-blacked-out on ebay for about $80 shipped, giving you the option of swapping back to stock if you get bored of it.

The "valence trim" is where you cut the little 1.5" high plastic lip off the very bottom of the bumper. Really common mod in the ranger community, makes the front look a lot cleaner.

Why would i want my windows open though? ;)

I know what they can do, but i can't really see the point unless i'm a smoker and i have full control of my HVAC (I do, manual AC control rocks)
