So i have a conundrum, and i'm not necessarily looking to change things *just* yet, but these are thoughts i'm mulling over in my head....

1) I have a Ranger that is working well.
2) It's 4x2 when ideally i want it to be 4x4 (or at the very least, not an open diff)
3) I don't have much/any spare money right now.
4) I have an older 350z that is just sitting there not getting used anymore, i like it, however it's not worth much in terms of resale these days.
5) Having a V8 again would be nice, i miss the sound.

I really would like to do something about getting 4x4 - it could be an F150, but it seems i'd be stuck with auto trans (not the end of the world) and maybe a mid 2000's model, but they're all still expensive.

I could get another Ranger that's already 4x4, but if i do that, it'd ideally need to be a 2006 or newer model, then i could get a manual trans.  Seems these aren't what i would call reasonably priced either.

I think once i finish cleaning it up, the 350z might net me 5k-ish, i think KBB rates my current Ranger at 4k-ish.  From what i'm seeing, that doesn't really get me much in the way of a reasonable F150, or newer Ranger.

I don't particularly want to sell the 350z, especially as it's almost to the point of being worth more to have, than to sell.  However, i can't ignore the fact that i haven't driven it in 3 years and that i should at least have something that is more useful to me (something i'd get more use out of)

Anyway, that's just a whole lot of mess, thoughts and frowning.

Keep the ranger. Sell the Z. Buy another 4wd ranger to keep the 2wd company.

That would be ideal but even I have been looking at larger trucks. I miss my dodge that I could pull the full car trailer with to bring home rangers. I certainly can't pull the full car trailer with a ranger it is about half the weight of a ranger. Put a ranger on there and we are reaching dangerous mode.

I drive one of those f250? I think. It was purchased to have more load capacity than the f150 but rides like the f150. Anyway one of you will know what I'm talking about. Its been flatbeded and had an overload lead spring installed. I'm a chimney mason in seattle. Driving this thing sucks. Before they gave me this company truck I used my 07 sport 4x4 4door ranger. I enjoy not beating on my personal truck and not having to pay for gas but my ranger was way more comfortable and easier to get around. Only thing the company truck can do better than my ranger is haul more brick and concrete because the bed is bigger. I've had just as much weight in my ranger. My 4.0L SOHC is almost as peppy as the 5.0L V8. At the end of the day all o can think about is how bad I want out of this truck. Maybe it's all in my head but as soon as I get in my ranger it's like ahhhhhh.....I dont know... if I could buy a new truck or a nicer truck I wouldn't do it. Even if some one gave me another truck I'd still like mine better. When I bought my 07 I liked my 99 better and it took me a long time to let the 99 go... I am crazy arent I. Lol

Get a 4x4 ranger. If you need something bigger rent it.

Interesting, thanks for the responses, sorry i only just saw this, apparently i didn't get auto sub'd to the thread.

Jamman's idea isn't bad, though i can't get much more than i have now with the proceeds from the 350, and i'd obviously have to sell the current 2WD as i can't have both. But then i have maybe a truck as nice as i have now, but 4x4? Not sure i can get it without the proceeds from selling both?
