So I went to the local salvage yards this weekend, door panels were on my list. Unfortunately I didn't find much. Only one good clean set, in tan....which was the wrong color for me. One question I have that I didn't realize might be an issue until I started looking at the "donors" was, does it matter as far as extended cab or single cab when looking for door panels?

Reason I ask is that, going back to my VW knowledge. Rear door panels for MK4 (1999-2005) 4 DR Golfs, Jettas and Jetta wagons are different, look the same, but isn't interchangeable between the 3.

I just put a set off an extended cab in a short cab.

There are also a lot of years that will interchange.

There are mild differences in the way the arm rest attaches, earlier ones had hooks on the bottom and 3 bolts the later ones have 6 bolts but you can still make them work they are the same "shape". Even the non electric control VS the electric control fits in the same hole.

The crank window version has an extra hole for the crank. Tou can poke a hole in the electric panel for the crank but the other way around you need a tweeter or something to stuff in the extra hole.

Anyhow the inner door panel I know fits from 1999 to about 2006 it might go further but I can't say for sure since I have never done it.

black06xlt will probably be able to fill in the gaps.

Thanks, that makes the possible donors more wide range.

I noticed that. I scored some decent seats (waaay better then what I have now, just dirty lol) out of an Edge, weird thing I noticed was the door panel (damaged) didn't have pockets like the ones in my truck, and it didn't have carpet either, was equipped with a rubber mat. I figured the Edge trimmed Rangers were the upper trim levels not the lower trim levels.

95-2011 will all interchange. The differences are color and materials used for the top portion of the panel. They came light gray dark gray black (fx4 level 2 only) and tan. 93-94 will work also but the inside door handle is different along with the dash. 93-94 shared the same dash as 89-92.

I consider rubber floor an upgrade over carpet lol
The later model door panels are really nice if you can find a set

I agree. Much easier to keep looking nice. Especially if you do anything outdoors. I blow mine out with an air hose. If its really muddy I just pull the drain plugs and rinse it out

Um, yeah, Edge appears to be some nice upgrades, but things like the interior were all optional, so, like mine, poverty door cards and vinyl flooring, though i prefer the flooring.
