I have 2 passenger side seats in my truck. The drivers side seat was in bad shape on my 94 and the “parts truck” 97 wasn't much better, but both passenger seats were in great condition. I simply transferred the drivers side seat rails to the 97 passenger seat. I did have to use longer bolts on the backside where the brackets mount to the cab floor with a large nut (maybe 3/4 thick) as a spacer between bracket and cab floor so seat back would have the right pitch for me. Only “bad” thing about doing this is that the seat back release lever is on the inside but I rarely need to mess with that. Not room for much behind seat / cab  besides a jacket anyhow. Need to build a console. For now I have the stock armrest/storage bin on floor between the seats
I have wondered if that's an easy way to have buckets. Thank you for sharing that!!

Does anyone know if a 2000 Ranger Extended Cab 40-20-40 seat will swap into a 1997 single cab?

Extended cab seats take quite a bit of modification to fit in to a standard cab. I did it once and I wouldn't do it again. It was 2 full days of work. Cutting, welding, measuring 5000 times, drilling, turning down bolts on a lathe, etc.

Plus the headrest area of the seat back is thicker on the extended cab seats, which leaves you less room in the standard cab.

I'm not 100% on the 2000 model year seats without seeing a picture.

My swap was done using 2004 extended cab seats and putting them in to a 2001 standard cab.

As I said, I wouldn't attempt it again even if I was paid to do it.

I put a set of 2004 bucket seats out of an extended cab in a 1992 regular cab. I had cut the rivets that hold the tracks to the seats so I could transfer the tracks. Not a direct bolt in but it can be done in a few hours. Look at my thread for "the slut" theres pictures in there of the swap

How did you get the belts to buckle? The 2004 extended cab seat buckles wouldn't lock on to my 2001 seat belts. So I had to fit the 2001 buckles to the 2004 seats, but the bolts wouldn't work and I had to turn down the shank on the bolts.
