This may be too long an entry, do not want to upset anyone here at Ford-Rangers.com.
First (after cutting off the frame and putting a new rear section on from about 3 inches past the cab corners)
I have a stick on the collum that shows the typical 1 2 and D with a circle around it. 3 speed with overdrive...(which by the way does not work. I think it is stuck in OD) HOWEVER, the truck shifts 4 times.. that to me is 5 gears.. ??4 speed with overdrive??
Oh btw it is 4wheel drive.. electric switch on dash. Fearful to try it.
Driving along, if you hit a bank steep enough to cause it to want to downshift.. it spits, sputters, coughs and sometimes bucks like an angry muel. Someone (grr) said it was the Mass Air flow sensor.. so we now have a new one.
I borrowed an OBD II scanner. Throttle Position Sensor was showing high, and Throttle/Pedal Position Sensoer was high as well
$ 50 dollars later, new TPS changed both errors.. throttle and throttle/pedal. However the bank 1 and bank 2 still showed lean.
After the new exhaust, the bank 1 and 2 lean went, and P0136 and 141 decided to shout out.. O2 sensor blah blah blah.
The exhaust shop did not put on those two canisters- I think they were catalictic converters....
OH and he said a partially stopped up fuel filter was the cause of the lean errors.
I went to the "live" thing on the scanner. Here is what showed up
DTCFRZF Po 171 (which we already knew)
Fuel Sys 1 --- clr
Fuel sys 2 --- N/A
Load PCT % --- 37.3
"ETC Fº --- 205
Shrt FT1 %---18
Long FT1 % 25
Shrt FT2 % --- 11.7
Long FT2 % --- 25
RPM (which the rpm gauge does not work) ---1484
USS MPH --- 21
If ANYONE understands that gibberish and knows how to fix me .. what is it called.. drive train?? I would greatly appreciate the help.
Cheers
Sammy
