It does take a bit of an A-hole to tear down something someone has done.

I checked out the F2-2 CFB Circuit, which is a sub-circuit of the F1-31 Fuse in the BFB.
I spliced the output of the F2-2 fuse, which IS "Hot on Run" and hooked that wire to the relay, pin 86, under the hood., Pin 85 to ground The Relay clicks, so we are good to go for the second half of the wiring... hooking up the lights.
Waiting on an In-Line Fuse Holder and will hook up the battery power to the the relay, Pin 30.

Funny though, military discipline aside. All of the best higher valued men I've known in all my years did well in life financially being said "asshole" in life. Sure, many had far worse social or other issues in life especially alcohol/drug/wife beater (kidding, sorta) related issues in life but financially attentive and stable all of them made great businessman.

Have you ever tried to find a 4-Pin Relay when you need one, NOT !
First off... I know a five pin will work BUTT, I went to four local auto parts store and none of them had a 4-pin relay and none had a Wiring Socket 4 or 5 pin.
A friend had one and the socket so I'm ahead of the game but I have to order more of these so I have them around... just n case.

All I need to do now is wire up the DRL Relay and I will have DRLs FINALLY.

Grille Lights are in and wired for DRLs.
The Halos on the Projector headlights are wired to the DRL Circuit and working with the Grille Lights.
By making the Halos Amber I can't use the Switchback function, the stay amber all the time. When I hook them up for white they don't match the Grille Lights.
All I need to do now is secure the Grille and install the Grille Shell.

DRLs done !

Mirrors coming up next... maybe in the next week or so !

The only time you'll see really a 4-pin Relay is rare specific use in a circuit, or dare I say it, cheap Chinese stuff. Just either yank the center wire out of the relay socket for non-use or don't terminate a wire and connector for it.

Just out of curiosity, what difference would it make if you're not using pin 87a? Seems like a lot of energy in thought for such a minute weight reduction in your wire harness. ; ) lol

Technically, the HALO's were the European highline versions of the Japanese city-lights in headlights. Not sure if BMW was the originator or just the most widely recognized. I've only had one E46 Chassis, a '01 328 coupe, and I do not believe I had HALO's in that 01 Model, I think those wern't really popular until after 04 when the 3 series changed, or 05 when the M3 Series changed designs. Before that I think it might have been in some upper 5 Series packages or limited to just the 7 Series with all of its electrical Gremlin nightmares they offered. Technically... they should be white but I realize you're going for a specific look.

Glad to see you got it wired up & working though !

Onto the next project ; )

None what so ever !
I was just talking about an experience I had... more for conversation sake than anything else.
I do know the differences between the 4 and 5 pin relay, it's more than just visual !

Glad to see you got it wired up & working though !

Onto the next project ; )

I never knew that the Halos should be white.
I went amber because the Grille Lights were amber.
My DRL's are only the Halo's and the Grille Lights, almost too many.
Then there is the LED Fog Lights.

As far as added circuits, that will work.
For DRLs... the circuit need to be powered by a Hot on Run circuit, but that is only where the power comes from.
