Why did you buy a 32 spline atlas?
That is a tough thing to overcome
You would have to start with a blank output shaft and I am pretty sure the number of splines is based on the size of the shaft....so you cannot just grind 32 onto it
https://www.advanceadapters.com/tech-vault/atlas-31-28-34-25-spline-input-ford/
32 splines is a GM thing
https://www.advanceadapters.com/products/atlas-transfer-case-builder-trail-series/

Might consider talking to Advance Adapters and see if you can change parts in the t case side of things
OR
Consider running a GM transmission?!?!?!

The T-Case is from an old project I was working on and as usual never finished.
The T/C was connected to an GM/NV4500 with a 32 spline output shaft, and I have talked to AA about a shaft for the AOD, to save me time and money of shipping.

I don't know if there is a Shop Locally that handles the Atlas II, 4 Wheel Parts is close, and Off-Road Warehouse is too, maybe one of them can do the work.
Sending the T/C back to AA is going to be a pita.

I will be asking around and see what is happening.

Pulling the 5.0L-W from the Jeep tomorrow, have a neighbor's son home from college and we were talking and I told him I had to get it out soon, he said he was free on Friday, tomorrow, so I should have my engine on the stand, the T/C really for Shaft Change, AND a NV4500/GM Style, 5.12 (?)-1st, 0.76-5th, up for sale.

Interesting thought on the GM Transmission, AA has a Kit for a 700R4 in a Ford, Adapter Bell Housing, Trans, and all of the needed stuff.  Something to think on.

If you know of someone that might want an NV4500, never use but 10 years old, and not afraid to ship it, was purchased and never had power applied !
Also, I have the Adapter for the Ford Manual Trans Bell Housing to the NV4500, 11" clutch setup, flywheel, pressure plate and disc.

I will sak AA about a local shop they certify .

Found the Adapter Ring I need for mating the AOD to the AtlasII T/C.
Spoke to Advanced Adapters and got the number, will place it on the LIST of things I will be ordering.
Just need to get see some reviews on PerformaBuilt Transmissions.

Have to get the serial number off the T/C so Advanced Adapters can get me the correct Input shaft for the T/C.
Tomorrow my day will be pulling the engine, Trans, and T/C from the Jeep, then change all the fluids in my Tractor... gotta put the Brush Hog on and get to cutting the fields.

The field on the east side of the house has been growing for a while, them weeds are getting big and I ran the Tractor over them with the Grader/Planer on it, it cut them down but not enough, those little bastards grow fast.

changing fluids in the tractor today and then Pulling the FORD drivetrain out of the '82 Jeep.

it sure does
Due to the move from CO I had to let 2 projects go I was not happy about

had a 2004 Ford F350 dually 6.0 powerstroke with a 6 speed manual the guy couldn't get to start after doing much work.....I sold it for $1400!!! I took it in on trade for a 7.3 superduty we flipped.
I researched the problem for months while we were packing and getting ready to close on the house....when the new guy bought it I told him I thought it was the battery cables and terminals......he took it home and told his mechanic. I was right...had it running the next day = SAD

I had a 93 Explorer with a cage and fiberglass, bumpers, roof rack, seats, the whole deal was ready to be turned into a v8 desert truck...had to let that thing go for like $400
SUCKS! But no tears there will be more.

Interests change, like needed to get the heck out of CO and into IDAHO! So yeah trucks can wait

Wow, too bad on the projects, the Explorer sounds like it would have been a good one.
I shipped the Jeep here, thinking I would go for it again but... not !
I am going to try a different approach with the Ranger, more to make it a little more heavy duty, at least to fit my needs but with out the cost of a brand new truck.

I think this will be my last one as far as a full build is concerned... but I'm hoping it will be a good one.
Hard to get all of the parts and a good Shop here in SoCl, not because there are none but because I don't know them.
I'm working on it, I found a guy that works in a Shop I used for repairs before, he drives a V-8 BII, should be a good guy, aye !
He says he can do it through the , I'm going to check out he's BII first but maybe I found a "410"  here in SoCal.

Got the Engine, Trans, and T/C out of the Jeep today... dam mice, they were living in the top of the engine.
Big mess, will need something to clean up the engine, the stuff is really sticky, and some is hard as a rock.
I need to contact Advanced Adapters with the Atlas II serial number...  they can tell me from there want I need to setup my T/C for the AOD.

Got through to the PerformaBuilt Transmissions and talked about their AOD Heavy Hauler.
I need some more info from Advanced Adapters about an output shaft for the AOD to match the 32 spline init on the Atlas II.
OR what a change in input shaft for the Atlas II will cost and where locally I can ge tit done.

Based on Web Reports, talking to their Customer Service People, and overall reviews... the PerformaBuilt Heavy Hauler AOD will be the trans for the third of four projects.

Haven't got the final numbers but PerformaBuild Transmissions do not replace tail shafts.
So now it is just a wait for Advanced Adapters to get back to me and I find a local Shop to do the work of changing the input shaft on the Atlas.
