I had to go to lkq yesterday to get a new shift indicator cable, it was the first time I'd ever looked at Rangers.

It's sad how many perfectly nice trucks were in there waiting to be crushed.

I saw a yellow splash no body damage, several quad cabs ect. Florida rust free trucks more desirable than my own body.

Just a shame

Unfortunately I have more project vehicles than I can keep up with but I am really starting to like this little ranger.

You should have seen the yards after the governments "Cash for clunkers" deal...$4500 to any american willing to ditch their old Explorer or blazer. The yards were FULL of perfectly good V8 explorers headed to the crusher... the engines were filled with silicon and no parts could ever be used..

I do my best to save as many clean trucks as we can here, people love Rangers and Ranger based trucks, the more we save the better!!! It is sad to see them go, things happen, titles get lost, people lose cars for parking tickets, etc...they end up in the yards for so many reasons its silly.

I was there, cash for clunkers was disastrous to anything cool. I cant remember the last time I saw anything from the 60s at LKQ

My father was at a local recycling center a couple months ago and a guy pulled on to the scales driving a brand new F150, with a new-ish F150 on his trailer. Dad asked him about it and he said it was a 2011 model and the engine was done. He said Ford told him the cost of an engine and he thought he might as well put that cost in to buying a new truck. They yanked it off the trailer with the claw, picked out the engine, and proceeded to flatten it on the ground by slamming the closed claw down on it. 110,000 miles on it. His payout was $175

The yards around here don't have   for Rangers. Haven't for years. And ANYTHING will get you $450, no matter how bad it is. $500 if they don't have to tow it in...
