I'm always on the lookout for more parts to mod.
Here's a list (maybe more to follow) of the common stuff I'm looking for:
3rd brake lights, both solid red & cargo models. From rangers, mazda trucks, sport tracs & super duty trucks (SD's are the same as rangers up to around 08) The OEM connectors are needed whenever possible too.
Also, for anyone who's paid close attention, the Super Duty trucks also have a model that is the same size & shape as the ranger 3rdbl, but it has a different look that I can do LED conversions to as well.
Radio bezels. 2wd & 4x4 various configurations of non-fog switch, single, double fog switch, even explorer bezels with the rear wiper control. Color doesn't matter too much as long as they're in decent condition.
Switches, pigtails & OEM bulb holders. Headlight switches, 4x4 switches, fog & defrost switches, their pigtails & bulb holders. I have a bunch of headlight & 4x4 switches that I'm gonna pre-LED mod one of these days, but the bulb holders are one of the more popular LED mods.
Relays, fuses, brake & turn signal pigtails. There are over a dozen standard size relays as well as the smaller rectangular relays that come in really handy for my projects.
The 3156 & 3157 bulb sockets & pigtails from brake lights, turn signals & reverse lights. I have some new mods that I hope will be really popular once a few guys have them so I'd like to have extras on hand just in case.
Cruise control pods. Another LED conversion I do is to the circuit boards in the cruise pods. Most of the rubber switch covers are either cracked or hard as a rock, but I can still use the circuit boards inside. If you find any where the top button covers are still flexible, that's a bonus for sure!
Explorer OHC's (overhead consoles)
The "sunroof" models are the least popular, but the electronics, wiring pigtails & temp sensors are the same so I can se some of the parts from them to repair other regular "garage door opener/sunglass" OHC's.
The regular OHC's with the drop down door on the rear section are what everyone likes the best. They come on light gray, dark gray, light tan, dark tan and I've seen a few greenish & blueish models too. Color doesn't matter too much as long as they're in decent condition.
A long shot, but the older 80's & 90's Ford trucks & vans have the old 2 piece Ford ovals that can be disassembled & modded using my process. The 5 3/4" & 7" wide ovals are THE hardest to find & many times 7 out of 10 will crack or break during the modding process.
I'll get pics of everything for those guys who do some junkyard hunting but may not know exactly what to grab.
As always, I really appreciate you guys who help me find parts to mod!!
