Self: turn torque pro app off on your phone through the app and not by "close all" on android. Close all does not turn the app off, it runs in the background searching frequently for the OBD2 reader, and decreases charge on your battery faster. I say as I see 6% and plug my phone in.

I just ran through all of my Apps on my Android Phone, there are sssssooooo many that came in with the original setup from AT&T that are not only useless but try and get rid of them. You have to go in and shut off each and everyone of them and then you can't delete them, or should I say I can't delete them.
THEN when you get an update from AT&T, some get turned back on again !

You agree to one thing and you get a lot more than you bargained for.

I'm thinking I'll get another Flip Phone, just to do away with all of the useless Apps.

Under $5

... and bt adapter by chance .

I paid $80 for the OBDLink MX; there are alternative cheapo ELM327 adapters on ebay that may or may not work.

https://www.amazon.com/ScanTool-426101-OBDLink-Bluetooth-Professional/dp/B006NZTZLQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1529593101&sr=8-2&keywords=obd+link+mx

You might troll online and find it cheapervia a promo, etc etc.

Can the app run at the same time your runnin bt radio and pandora?

Mine sure does exactly this, no conflicts or problems of any kind.

Sorry if it's a dumb question.

There is no such thing as a dumb question, if it was you wouldn't have asked.

Another thing about Torque Pro, some vehicles will sync up quickly, my '04 Ranger for example. Other vehicles like the '12 Mini Cooper requires me to cycle the bluetooth off and back on before it will sync up.

its called bloat ware. When you buy a phone from Samsung or LG, they put their BS on it. THEN your carrier adds their BS onto it. Only way to really get rid of it is to root the phones which is quite effective. Going to do my Tablet and the Note III I've had for a few years now. Niether of which get updates anymore thank God.

Me runs a mapping/tracking app when I'm mountain biking or hiking; it'll pause when I pause and to some degree, reduce battery consumption (GPS in itself, is a battery eater, so...). Knowing this, sometimes I wonder why the guys that cooked up the Torque app can't revise it to make note of when the engine is off and the vehicle isn't moving (ie, GPS or steering sensor or both) and pause the d*mn app, and if the time is prolonged, put it in a sleep mode until the next time the vehicle is driven. Having to fiddle with Torque every time the vehicle is used a PITA and as such, the Torque doesn't get used much here.

That is what I have, I just carry it in case I have a problem when going to, or coming home from work on the highway. I do not need a smart phone with all the useless clutter. I do not play games or visit forums with the phone, for that I have the desk top computer. I have a Kyocera flip phone from Sprint, it makes & receives calls & I can send & receive texts which is all I need.

Remember back when if someone wanted to call you they did so at home and not when you were busy and distracted with life. And when you werent home the phone would ring, and riing, and ring... and ring until smarter people figured out that after 6-7 rings, aint no damn body gonna answer it!

And then they came out with little cassette recorders that recorded messages and those were all the rage, until digital ones hit a couple years later.

and now.. NOW you see everyone's face buried, neck bent over, washed in blue light, and not talking or being social whatsoever anymore.

^^^ Interwebz have changed the way people interact and socialize + it improves time usage efficiency. Flip phones = burner phones, they are sold under names like TRAC, and when the time is gone, you simply toss the primitive technology in the trash and buy another one for $20, and LL answering machines are used by people that still have wall paper with embedded felt and gold foil hanging on their living room walls and think "long distance" phone calls are a special event. This, or the unlucky few who live in a shadow of reliable cell service.

Who would have thought that a device designed for the star trek series would become obsolete before there was intergalactic travel at warp 8.

People thought that the I-pad concept came from the 2001 a space odyssey movie but my older cousin Les had a pad style communication device when he started at IBM after getting out of the army and I was like 14. That was a LONG time ago. It was thicker than todays I-pads and samsung equivs but same concept.

Cuz' unless your a Trekkie' no one knows where to get Dilithium Crystals from let alone a way to get there in present day technology. But in retrospect I would suppose something more like the early 2000's movie remake version of 50-60's TV show "Lost in Space" before Star Trek Class D ships are buzzing around.

Yep, we need the dilithium crystals to control the matter/anti-matter reactor.
