A buddy and I will be making a run down to Daytona on Friday. It will be a leisurely drive down stopping in Darian GA at B&J's Steak and Seafood for lunch. We will be staying at a friends in his camper.

We will hit it lightly Friday night and then do the Saturday main street in the morning, test rides in the afternoon, and some of the more infamous dives in the evening. The plan is to hang around until about noon on Sunday and head back to Atlanta.

I've given it some half-hearted thought a few years, but never gotten serious about it.

How much of a pain is it to be there in a car/pickup? Bike-week style 'riding' isn't my idea of fun, and at this time of year most of the ride to FL wouldn't be fun either...so if i ever make it, I'd probably be in my car.

Same. While I might like to go, the weather from Denver is just a little to unpredictable this time of year.

Update: I pulled out Friday morning at 6:15 and met up with my riding buddy at a Waffle House for breakfast. After the meal I get on my bike and it will not turn over.

Nothing happened when I hit the start button. We swapped the start relay with the other relay, tried jumper cables, disconnected the battery to give it a system reset, finally had a customer with a multimeter and the battery is at 12.74 volts and then check all of the fuses. I used one of the multimeter leads to by-pass the start button and apply power to the solenoid and it spun over but would not crank. I did not hear the fuel pump spinning up when the ignition is turned on.

I rode bitch back to the house and then my buddy headed south to Daytona 2 hours latter than planned. I got my trailer hooked up to the Ranger and went to pick up the bike. Loading an 800 lb bike on a trailer without power is a major PIA.

I dropped it off at the dealership just before noon Friday as I am out of ideas. My best guess is I have a switch that failed, fuel pump failure, or computer failure.

I hadn't been to Bikeweek in about 10 years. The wife is out of town since last Thursday and will not be back until Tuesday. It seemed like a perfect opportunity to get some saddle time, meet up with some friends I hadn't seen in a while and experiance the current depravity level that can happen at Bikeweek.

I do hit the Biktoberfest about every other year as I have a place at Crescent Beach. It is a lot more sedate than the crazy things I have seen during Bikeweek. The average age of the attendees at Biktoberfest is much older and there is a greater percentage of American made bikes.
