we all come from different walks of life and generations here, the nice thing about America is you can have your own ideas and not be afraid to talk about them!
Idaho has its first case, that they know about....
We will re bound from this and be stronger then before...I just hope nobody loses any loved ones over this stupid virus
The media can only control so many of the sheeple, the rest of us are silent and looking over our shoulder until the time comes our voices need to be heard (like election day)

Good time to be back in the woods where my closest neighbor is wildlife, as if I needed another reminder
We are running out of TP though.....gotta get some TP soon!
I did notice you can still buy the eco friendly TP in the RV section....only $1.20 a roll! LOL the zombies have not found that isle yet

The more I think on what Jim said, the more I start to think along the line of outside influences are trying to breakdown the economy of the US.
The major influx in Illegal Aliens, well fed and their Cell Phones Charged Aliens, wondered how that happened on the walk up to the US, this Flu that is really starting to affect the economy, the way we live, and is affecting the ability to buy what we want, when we want, on and on and on; Not who might be at fault, Russia did make a statement years back, "We will Destry you from within", this could be just one part of it.

BUT, we will all need to sit back, make the best of it, keep your hands clean, stay home as much as possible, the last one is easy for me.
I went to Costco yesterday, saw people mulling around, dropped off the wife and looked for a parking space...  found one quickly, headed for the door and it was locked, what, my wive is on the inside and I would like to be with her, if it isn't a problem... NOT... it was a problem.  Funny I wasn't going to add to the Cart use, I wasn't login to buy more than the person already in there, if anything I might lighten up the waiting lines... LoL, if anyone would laugh at my joke other than the wife.   About 20 mins and a lot of talking later the door opened, we were allowed to go in again, the wife never missed me, almost, and we finished up, the line was to the back of the store... I give the people credit, no problems in line, Costco had people directing everyone, nice work Costco.
Didn't take long we were out the door, not believing what we had just been through, not believing what WASN'T on the shelves, because we got everything we wanted, except the Parmesan SHAKEY Cheese, luv that stuff.

All in all the shopping at Costco went better than we expected, orderly, got what we wanted, but no toilet paper, WTF is going on here.    Do you think the Toilet Paper Company is pushing the News Casts to make a big deal about wiping your @ss !  LoL !    The one thing that blows my mind id the TP not even one roll.
The Manager of Costco told me they put six Pallets, just how many rolls that is I am not sure nit a few, the put the pallets in place yesterday AM, the doors opened and it took 15 minutes and it was all gone from the shelves... DOES EVERYONE HAVE A BACKSIDE PROBLEM !  Com'on, that isn't one of the symptoms.

In Italy, everyone is told to stay home, each day, they do, one person is allowed out to shop, get the the things needed, go back home, leave something for someone else.   Why do we live in a "Me" driven society, doesn't make sense.

OK, I'm rambling, I will stop, thanks for reading, I hope all get through this B.S. in good health.

GOD BLESS, because thats another story !

Hello from minutes north of Seattle washington.

In my opinion the run on toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and bleach is just collective madness. I hope they feel safe. Lol.

The impact on the economy is in question but empty storeshelves is evidence to me that people are still spending money. I think we will be fine.

In my household I am not the one who shops at grocery stores. I dont like being around people who dont respect others time. If I do visit the grocery store I go directly to what I need an get out. I do my houshold shopping for consumables and hygiene products in bulk online delivered to my door every other year. I'm not what most people consider a prepper but in this case I guess I am prepared.

Today i needed dry cat food and the furballs will turn their nose up if it's not somewhat fresh so I cant buy it in bulk. So out of curiosity I when to the grocery store instead of the pet store. People were calm. I saw the toilet paper shelf was empty. I did see some people were buying paper towels as a substitute. I think I missed the chaos

As a native born washingtonian and a close neighbor to seattle here is my perspective, this will diminish in the spring and those who hoarded will feel foolish afterwards.

A very positive side effect from this, the rush hour traffic that Seattle is known for is gone. If universities and tech giants can make that big of an impact on our regional traffic, then they should continue. For the last 2 weeks I've been able to do the 60mph speed limit on the freeway from my entrance the entire way and take the last exit closest to my shop. Prior to this I'd have gotten on a few entrances south and had to exit a couple exits early and take backroads, and the highest speed I'd see was 35mph on the back roads. To and from work would take 45min to an hour plus. Now it's back to 18-20min. Everybody in the Seattle area gets at least an hour of their life back daily to do whatever. That's incredible...

It has also confined people in close quarters and started conversations that ultimately have given a lot of us a lot to think about going forward...

Contrary to popular belief, not everyone near seattle is a hippy liberal. Stay away from my guns!!! pew pew

I didn't lose any respect for Trump over his responses.  I never had any respect for him.

I'm sure the toilet paper companies can push the news to report certain things all they want, but the news companies don't care what the toilet paper companies want reported.  Kind of a strange connection there...

I am a little upset that Trump's admin killed the one office that was designed to deal with something like this.  I get it, Obama did it so it was evil, fuckwads.  So we end up with a douche like Pence 'pray the gay away' fag 'leading; the response.  What a cluster  .  And classifying the CDC's responses?  Why?  At one point today or yesterday, we had tested a grand total of 77 people in the US for it.  Yet, the Utah Jazz tested all 58 players in 2 days.  Money talks.  Want to bet me Trumpy has been tested?  Let's hope so, he is out there shaking hands with people that have positive tests...god what a moron...

We went to CostoCo.  They open at 9:30.  They had people lining up at 7:30.  On the CHANCE that TP was delivered overnight.  One pallet was.  I head that all 140 packages on it sold in 7 minutes...

Wife will be working from home for the next 3-4 weeks.  I can't, have to be hands on to get my   done.  Of well.  I am not worried I will get it.  I am far more concerned that I might be a vector to my Dad, 88, would be a real risk to him.  I'm not doing anything different, just wash your hands.

Well the roads are a lot quieter here too - the loo rolls are an endangered species - old people are queued up at the checkouts with trollies loaded high with stuff they probably won't live to use!

The health service is now only testing for the virus in people who present with significant symptoms and who are "high risk". So the number  of people who actually have the virus will be hugely under measured - good move by our politicians who clearly are doing this to downplay the extent of the illness.

Schools etc are NOT being closed except where absolutely necessary or where too many of the staff are self isolating.

Meantime, I am carrying on as usual except I go shopping in the evening when all the old dears are tucked up in bed and the pallets of fresh supplies are out for restocking the shelves.

Apart from the fact I should be drinking Chianti in Italy right now ....

Friday was a make-up snow day that we did not need so the schools were closed. All of the counties around us in the metro ATL announced they were shutting down next week. Some had spring break the following week or in two weeks. A decision late Friday to have the students stay home and do the virtual classroom next week.  They are having all the teachers and staff report except for those teaching the virtual classes as they can do it from home. I suspect they will continue the virtual classes for a second week that will get us to Spring Brake. That would be 3 weeks for the students to get infected by one of their parents who still has to go out to work. A little extra incubation time to then come back to infect everybody at school.

My neighbor loaded up their camper and headed for Florida. Both he and his wife are tele-working and the one kid still in school can do the virtual classroom tethering her computer to her phone.

On another note my BIL called my wife to brag that they had 55 roles of toilet paper. She went around the bathrooms and we have 34 plus 3 partials that are loaded. I didn't see a need to tell her about the role I keep behind the seat of the truck.

I've wondered about traffic.  But I leave for work at 4am, so I don't see traffic on my way in.  On my way home there is usually some.

The other weird thing I noticed is how some people are just panic buying like it's the end times.  Why are you buying 5 cases of bottled water?  You water won't be cut off.  Nor will your electricity, internet etc.

I am worried about how some business and their workers will be affected.  Schools closed?  What about your kids?  Service industry?  What will wait staff do as traffic goes down?  There will be a real and lasting economic effect.  I wish as a country we had a real, proactive stance towards it from the start.  Country wide it got fumble fucked and real people will pay for der leaders lack of leadership.

WHY are you even drinking bottled water - it is full of micro-plastics !! Chianti is much safer as long as it comes in glass bottles :wine:

Not to soapbox again, but the administration "Screwed the Pooch" on this one.  There was a chance to get ahead of this when it began, but he laughed at it, saying it would all go away.
As far as panic buying, my wife and I went through and worked through many hurricanes in South Fla during our 40 years there.  We are used to stocking up on items long before the event actually happens.
Back in Jan. when this all started, we knew it would cause some kind of a problem here, and we than began buying our necessities.   As a retired cop, and wife is a RN with 40 years of experience, we have learned never to wait till the last minute .

Let's not get too political... I can easily go further than I did earlier but it isn't the place.

Traffic here in SoCal is mild, a little less than usual but I think everyone just want to see how much traffic there isn't and Wham-Bam a traffic jam.

When I read through the latest posting I thought of response for each but they evade me for now...  the Wife was saying she read something on line that stated someone predicted a Respiratory  type of Virus would hit the US in 2020, it would disappear quickly and in ten years return, there goes the End of Days thing, that only was suppose to be seven years of sh!t !

She also read that this Flu started because people were eating infected animals, I guess you eat what you have but but butt !   I'm lost on this, so I will let it go... but better than the monkey thing and doing your thing with them... i.e. AIDS !

From what I have gathered from standing in line is that most people are still in good humor, we all can laugh about it, and hope that it blows over quickly !
No need to get stressed out over something that is out of your control.

My daughter was going to cancel my 6 year old granddaughters part today, but she thought the little one would have a hard time understanding why.    She decided to have it and pass out wipes for anyone that wanted them.    Make a game of the kids washing up to eat cake and ice cream, and hope everyone else feels the same way.    If all else fails the family will be there and it should still be a good day.

Ltr all,

God Bless all, keep safe !

Well, I can't see voting for either Biden or Sanders, but no, I won't vote for trumpy.  But I am afraid he will get another 4 because I have ultimate confidence in the dems to screw up.

I am working an abbreviated workday delivering sack lunches to the Title 1 free lunch students that are doing the virtual classroom at home. The governor has shut down all schools in GA until 3-31. My county has Spring Break that week so I will have 2 weeks of free lunch delivery and then a week off.

I pressed out 800 rounds of 9mm this afternoon. The DNR ranges are open so I will go blow off about 300 rounds of the 9mm tomorrow afternoon after I test some 357 JHP loads I have been working on. I got a feeling I will be loading one day and at the range the next for the next few weeks.

kids are home for ????? who knows how long
We are to home school??? I'm like WTF I pay for private school education I am not going to pay them and home school?? Makes no sense
Social Distancing = Check, pretty much already did that moving back here
My parents are getting up there, both down IN Texas, they are self quarantine = smart

I'm going out for supplies today, we have a ton of food and canned goods, we have some TP buy could use more..... wish us luck!
Washington is ground zero California is pretty much martial law, I mean shelter in place enforced by police is pretty much martial law last time I checked.
Idaho is shutting down......... I don't mind having the kids home, it is nice not having to run them to and from school each day, karate has been cancelled, they look forward to that. Otherwise all is well back here in the woods for now......
This gives me a great deal of time to focus on fixing trucks....have a 2006 on the lift right now getting wheel bearings and pinion seal
then its finish the V6 truck, parts are in
Then back to building the 07!! We have a clear direction for the front suspension so I will be focused on Eddie Money truck in coming weeks
Everyone stay safe, clean and well!!

You gotta make it yourself. I will be adding 250 357MAG 158gr HydraShok to the inventory tomorrow. I nailed down a load recipe this afternoon that has the bullet traveling at 1142 fps.  At that speed the bullet will have maximum expansion. This was the best grouping for 6 test bullets that got me in the maximum expansion window recommended by Federal.

On that 9mm, I have 115gr Jacketed Round Nose, 124gr Plated Round Nose, 125gr Plated Hollow Point, 125gr lead Round Nose. 125gr Coated Round Nose, 124gr Hydroshok JHP, 124gr Plated Flat point, and 124gr Jacketed Flat Point. The Hydroshok has the same specs as what Federal loads in their commercial bullets. Everything else has been optimized for my 1911, 92 INOX, or the AR-9.  The AR-9 will eat anything but I can pump up the speed to levels that would blow up the other two. The 1911 and 92 both like different loads to shoot accurately but they both run better on 124/125 gr bullets.

Recently I have been spending most of my loading time working up loads for my 357 and I haven't loaded any 9mm in the past 6 months. I haven't been this low on 9mm in a long time but I could probably scrounge up 3 or 4 thousand rounds.  Over the  winter I did load up all 223 and 6.8SPC brass that had.

You would fit right in here with the neighbors I do have
Pandemic = more time for reloading!

On a lighter note Anyone else been watching movies like "The Stand" and "outbreak"? Virus is one of the elitist wet dream apocalypse scenarios, plenty of movies about it to keep us entertained.

I like the one blog where the woman has been homeschooling her kids for 6 hours, one kid is already in detention and the other was expelled = hilarious. Also in Callisbad CA somebodies dinner lobster got out and was wandering the streets....
You can't make this stuff up

Contagion https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1598778/ is one of my favorites.

I have overheard in the hallways multiple times about how this is a designed virus, manufactured.  Baffles me how stupid some people can be.  'Why are we still working?'  Well, it's a clean room.  Masks, gloves, gowns, we are probably pretty safe.  But our vendor has said that getting gloves is tough right now...sheesh...

Most of you on the economy are closer than others... Think about it. the Corona virus has been being touted as the "Pin" thats deflating all of the current bubbles economy's.

  • The Student loan debt
  • Wall Street
  • Medical Bill Bubble
  • Continuing housing debt
  • Etc...

And everyones got a fear-porn theory and or wants to turn it into a political debate about the Republicans this, and the Democrats that. Meanwhile, although the basic flu, the Spanish Flu (the biggest killer of time), coming in close second the Black Plague, Bubonic plagues,... Level 4 CDC lab in N.C. was in fact where this thing was created, the ins/outs of how it got out, through Canada supposedly and into China can be left to everything from chance to conspiracy in conversation.  The CDC job is to go out into the world, find the most harmful and heinous pathogens in the world and mutate them - Then figure out a cure.  I dunno about you but if the   doesn't exist, there is NO NEED for a cure to be found if the only way these things could mutate together is in a lab NOT in nature.

This was clearly a man made issue that as per usual, got away from its handlers and now in a weeks time. The very same government that's been telling you to turn in your guns because the police are here to protect you all of a sudden are telling the nation after 1 week that YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOURSELF AND SAFETY - NOT US.

Wow.. How about that. And the CDC is recommending to its staff and workers to have 3 months worth of food put aside.. Does that give anyone the inclination that this thing could be over my April 4th? I'd add in this mans words to mind:

And then at the expense of being slightly laughed at.. For those of you trying to connect the dots of the economy snafu's.. I'll bet a Testicle on this mans theory first.

For those further wondering whats to expect if you think you have it or get it, here's a starter for what you might have to deal with.

And although I am on the fence about the Journalist outlet of the Blaze.  Some interesting comments are made in relation to

the lefts most prominent village idiot and the fear-porn agenda of "Never waste a crisis"..

Not saying I support 100% of all thats said, just saying. Take the information you're not hearing on the left/right paradigm media's and process it with what you do know is true. Come up with your own conclusions.
