I'm 70, and a bit concerned.   Just using common sense in our daily routine.
However, it is the republican  senate majority that MUST be concerned, because it has just been proven the the virus. can be spread by "kissing ass".
They must all be quarantined now.  Possible quarantine location will be Mar A Lago.

Lol - covid 19 must be democratic, it doesn't care who it infects.

It is obviously not "putting America first" 'cos the chinese are ahead of the game...

Am I the only one that wonders what happened to Covid 1 through 18?

And once Der Leader pushes through his 'help package' for industries adversely affected by the virus, ie: hotels, he will be stealing directly from our pocket and putting it in his, for protecting his clique of personal ass suckers.

WD-40 was the 40 th attempt an making a water displacement solution.  # 1 - 39 had failed, thus WD-40.
Preparation H ---the H stands for "hemorrhoid".  They couldn't name it Prep BC for "butt crack" or Prep A for "ass" now could they ?

Get drunk every day and the alcohol will prevent the virus spread... also, you could give a sh!t less !

If this virus is engineered for 60+, it could be a democratic attempt to clean out Congress.

I like the Alien Concept !

But on the man time the Toilet Paper Companies, the Rubber Glove Compies and the Face Mash Companies are planning a Covid 21 for next year... then we will all wonder about Covid 20 !

Maybe if you cover yourself in WD-40, it might help !  LoL !

Assuming the preparation they were working on was initially for hemorrhoids. Early medicine was a lot of happy mistakes. Could have started out as preparation G for gingivitis till some one sat on it....there could have been preparation A-G

So now our fine governor has closed all the schools in the state for 3 weeks.

There will be panic. People will lose their jobs because they can't leave their 3 year old alone. Not everyone has family, my kids are old enough to be by themselves and my wife only works part time at a grocery store within walking distance BUT when they were younger we had NOBODY. I have no family in the state, her family well most of them anyway have their own problems, all grandparents passed, my dad was still around till about 3 years ago but he was a kid too suffering from a stroke and altimeters.

So though I'm not in the cross-hairs of the OBVIOUSLY created hysteria that everyone is hopping on the bandwagon of. But tens of thousands are. This will alone cause more deaths by suicide than the Covid-19.

The hysteria will cause financial difficulties that we will live with for the next 10 years.
I contend and are putting it in writing here, the Virus is not the problem it is the reaction. The virus is only spread by being close to someone that is carrying it. The hysteria knows no boundaries and is quickly spread through social media as it too has mutated into a major global epidemic.

Guys (and a couple gals) this is bad, really bad. Doctors are turning patients away out of fear (more of the modern attorney system than the virus), schools and colleges are closed, major sports events cancelled, churches are closing the doors on Sunday, amusement parks and public swimming areas are talking about shutting the doors.
The economic repercussions will cut deeper than the virus ever will.

If I am wrong I won't have a problem admitting it, only time and numbers will tell.

Always leaning to the right,
Jim

Jim, the governors are doing the only thing they can to stop the spread of the virus.  The virus spreads much faster and easier than anything we are used too.  Many, many people have built up a resistance to the flu over the years, and there are vaccines  for it.  There is nothing for this one.
The govs. are acting only because for the first 2 months the administration poo-poo'd the idea that this was a serious health problem.  And no matter what our fearless leader says, the govt is not and has not done enough to safeguard the public.  Basically each governor has become the "President" of his/her state, because our fearless leader called the virus a hoax that was spread by the democrats and the news media.  They are doing what they feel is the best course of action to protect the public.
By eliminating groups, sporting gatherings, closing schools and collages, they are basically "self quarantining" people.  My wife is an RN, and the hospital has no available beds due to normal patient admissions.  If the virus were to hit here there are NO beds available.  Same goes for hospitals in the general area.
Yes, it will definitely hit hard as far as workers/pay/.  But if allowed to continue, those workers may get very sick, or worse.
I was around in the 50's and 60's when common stuff  like measles, mumps, flu, would run through the population like fire, as there were no vaccines.  Now they are treatable, but this is a new virus, and could mutate into something far worse.
Wife and I are both in our 70's, and although in good health, are a bit concerned.  Not scared or worried or in a panic, just concerned.  We have already cancelled two up-coming RV trips we had planned for April and May, but to us it's just a minor inconvenience when placed next to the hardships of many others.
So, yeah, if it means I can't go on a camping trip, or to a NASCAR race, of a movie theater, so be it.

You nailed it Jim. You also need to add the hysteria induced losses in the stock markets on top of the Russian/OPEC(Saudi) run to drop the price of crude low enough to put small shale oil producers out of business. The break even point is $80 a barrel. Anything less than that American oil companies loose money producing oil.  If the price stays below $80 for 6 months most of the oil companies will have to shut their doors making the US dependent on foreign oil once again.

My investor managed 401K account has lost 24.6% in 3 months (the bulk of my retirement). I have another account that I manage and it lost 8.2% in 3 months but it has dropped 18.8% in the past 3 weeks (minor account that is now 12% of my retirement). I was planning to go full retirement with the wife in 2 years and that is now not going to happen.  We are back to a 7 year plan. F#@K You MEDIA for creating this bull.

Love ya man but I do disagree that it is as big as is being broadcast. Like I said if I am wrong I will admit it. I'm 6 months shy of 60 but can't forget the fuel crisis and how it was fake, everyone bought it. I'm not saying the virus is fake of course it is real and it is dangerous. But it isn't water turning to blood, frogs, lice, flies, livestock pestilence, boils, hail, locusts, darkness and the killing of firstborn children. I truly believe it is being blown way out of proportion and almost half of the united states citizens are puppets being dangled by the strings of the TV stations. I stopped watching the news about 18 years ago when I figured this out.

This whole coronavirus deal is the biggest   show I have ever seen. It has canceled schools sporting events with as of now nascar. The flu is more deadly so what is the big deal? Who is getting rich from this?

The panic is real. Go to any grocery store and see. I have not changed a thing about my life. I have lost a little respect for Trump in caving to political pressure and declaring a national emergency.

The emergency isn't the virus. The emergency is the panic. I hope my point of view which I personally see as reality does not affect the forum, as people with any point of view (even those who put a LS in a Ranger) are welcome and I love you all. You are welcome at any time to express your exact point of view as long as it doesn't contain an inordinate amount of swearing.
