I was not informed about the tracking device. I'm too old to start back at the bottom. I'm top lead Mason. I'm paid well. It's just the step son who is a bit of a voyer and is inappropriately interested in our personal lives.
I drive to the customers houses and repair or restore chimneys and masonry. In the past we have had an employee who would go do his side jobs with his unknowing apprentice while getting paid to do company work. I have been loyal and trustworthy employee. My employer has too many family members on payroll so he needs to claw, scrape, and chisel as many pennies from his employees to ease his burden.
All they might learn from my GPS data is that I might finish the day with a trip through the drive thru or i might sit at the fast food place for 10 extra minutes to get a full 8 hours in since I almost always finish my jobs early. I get paid hourly. He gets paid by the job so if I finish early I lose those hours.
I'm sure some employers will disagree with my views but I'm just trying to live.
EM,
All of the above for sure, and just maybe as Jamman stated, maybe they aren't in place for you but just in case someone else in the group takes your truck.
I don't know but, "is it appropreate for you to ask your Boss about the units" ?
Not aggressively, just in a "Hey Boss, look what I found" type of question.
Just maybe there is a reasonable explanation, and after you talk you will find out it isn't about you !
I know about not wanting to start from the bottom, happened to me at 50 and would have at 60 but I retired... PITA !
