Hey, even with an auto, you can pop a floor shifter in and voila! Stuff that 410 on the stick and go for it!

just don't get shot if you get pulled over cuz the officer thinks you reached for a gun! Seriously stepson had a revolver style shifter in a ranger and it freaked out a cop when my stepson got pulled over for speeding.....not the best idea in the world trigger happy rookie traffic patrol cop + revolver bits in the cab = dead by whoopsies

Have you guys seen the new Python from Colt? They're bringing back an old classic, and my favorite revolver.

They'll be available in 4.25 and 6 inch, 357 mag of course.

Now, this part might upset some. This is growing on me. The old ones were either that deep royal blue or nickel. Fairly sure it was nickel, anyway. These will only be available in stainless. For now. I prefer blued for the python, but considering these are a fraction of what the old ones cost.... I think I can live with that.

Not to mention, they have some improvements that on them which I find fairly compelling. The front sight can be replaced and is interchangeable with existing sights from their other revolvers (incoming tritium!) and the rear sight is adjustable. That said, the trigger mech is different. It has 14 fewer parts than the old ones, but these are said to be stronger and equal to or better than the old ones.

Don't be shocked if I cheat on my v8 swap funds when these come out. I must have a Python.

It's kind of odd. This is the only Colt gun I get all wetted up over. I love 1911s and AR15s, esspecially my Kimber Raptor 1911 and my Vietnam era lookalike AR15, but tbh I don't really consider those general guns as colt guns, not when everyone and their mother sells an AR15 or a 1911 of some kind.

Heck, I don't even like Colt. I find I can get a better gun for less or the same price as a Colt. But this Python..... My precious.... Must have!

I have a buddy that has 4 of the new Colt Python's. All never fired and at the back of his safe. He is positive that Colt will only make them for a couple of years and they will double in value overnight when production stops.

How did he get those? I thought they were only announced, not actually able to purchase yet.

Oh, and they're Colts. They'll double, if not triple, in value (whether they're worth it or not) because Colt. So he's right about that much.

I have my doubts that they plan to stop after 2 years. Usually if something is a limited run, like that M16A1 reissue (which to my eyes was a cash grab with zero effort towards authenticity), then they would be all over saying 'limited time only! Buys yours NOW!!!!". Because that would drive the price up instantly.

They're out there, first batches already in stores and bought, Colt confirmed still making them.

These are not the "handmade" version we used to have, they're tooled up for mass production so i really doubt the value will do anything much in the back of the safe.

They are, however, reportedly as smooth, if not smoother than the originals, and i have that on good authority, not just from one of the publications stating as such.

Got my Scope for Christmas... Leupold, VX-3i 2.5-8x36, haven't mounted it yet but hoping to soon.

Don't really like the Reticle... wanted either Mil Dots or their older Pig Reticle but the Standard Cross Hairs is all they offered.
I think Leupold is trying to make more money by offering an after purchased Upgrade Program... at a price !   I'm guessing that is one way to make the price go up without increasing the selling price of the Scopes.  Always a gimmick !

Range day! I took the 357 and 45GAP out to the range this afternoon. I have a new load worked up and ready to be tested for the 357. It is a 158gr heavy plate hollow point. I have loads at .3 grains apart starting .4 grains below max recommended load going down to the +P 38 SPL range.

The range was very busy so the GAP stayed in the bag. The brass is too hard to replace I only shoot it when I am sure I can recover all of the brass. The other disappointment the battery on my chronograph is dead. So I did not get to work up the new load.

I ended up blowing off 120 rounds of 125gr round nose lead heads. These are a hot 38spl +P range load I had worked up a few months back. I am very accurate in single action mode with 2-hand and 1-hand shooting. The heavier trigger pull for double action is something I need to get used to. I still hit the target but it was all over the place.

I've had a few people ask for me to make them for them. They are quite flawed, so it's hard for me to sell something to somebody that is not perfect. I guess I should make one not for myself, and throw it up on ebay and see what I can sell it for. They are also many hours worth of work, the shortest one was probably 4 hours total, the longest one 8 hours (the orange one took FOREVER to stamp out each triangle).

Both pieces are really nice!  I'm not a big fan of wheel guns, but I always respect a nice handgun or rifle of any kind.

For sure. But to be fair, I would have to be in very desperate straights to sell any of my guns. Each one i have the purchase was labored over and each one has a special place in my collection.
