Can't say anything about the red dots, although I wouldn't mind having one at some point.

The Rhino needs to go back where it came from though. Ugly thing....

I can get a deal on Trijicon but Im not backed by the US Gov so in comparison.. The Vortex Venom is a great 2nd choice.

and as for the Rhino.. You might find this entertaining.

First question for those using red-dot sights on a handgun.. 3 MOA vs 6 MOA?

2nd Question is anyone seen the Rhino from Chiappa Firearms

For match shooting I would go with the 6moa for faster pick up. For target shooting the 3moa will be more precise. I am running a 2moa on my range gun.

The Rhino shoots from the bottom of the cylinder instead of the top. If you are shooting a fixed distance this should not be a problem. If the distances vary the much higher sights can through you off a bit. Just a different design that is a bit better in a ka-pow situation. I shot the 6" barrel and it was a smooth shooting gun but I am not sure it is a $1400 pistol.

Yep, there are better 357's out there for less money. For a 357 my first choice would be Ruger in either a Blackhawk or an older stainless Security Six. A better choice in hand cannons is the 41 mag Blackhawk. Of the magnum calibers it is balististicly more sound than the 357 or 44. Pretty much exclusively wheel gun calibers.

I have a 44 Mag and it has been a blast to shoot it over the past 30+ years. The problem I have with the 44 is that a full power magnum load now hurts when I shoot it (250gr bullet running 1450fps). I have some hybrid loads that are way beyond 44 Spl but much less than 44 Mag that are as much as I can tolerate pain wise.

Then there are the super hand cannons. The 454 Casull, 460 Roland, and the 50 Action Express. I have shot each of these and after the first shot I wimped out. The 454 Casull and the 50 AE are about the same as far as power (about 3 times that of 44mag). The 460 Roland is about 15% more than a 44 mag.

Unless you reload any of these calibers are very expensive to shoot on a regular basis.

I'm assuming the 50AE was out of a Desert Eagle? I plan on getting one of those at some point in polished chrome. How are those on the range? Never had a chance to see one in person let alone shoot one.

I was a one shot wonder. It was too much for a handgun. And yes it was a Desert Eagle.

Sounds right up my alley, then. I don't know why, but I have this obsession for recoil. The more recoil it has, the more badly I want to shoot it. Maybe it's because I started on 22LR? Perhaps that's why my M1 is my favorite to shoot, or maybe it's because of the ping....

Because they're all "novelty" like weapons.. maybe even so is the Rhino at this point. I mean who honestly conceal carries any of those let alone open carry; without being out of sarcasm or humor? As funny as it would be to pull out a D.E. I dont think i'd want to carry it around all day/night constantly printing myself adjusting my own comfort.

I do realize not everyone wants to blow a months salary on one if they don't have the money but they all sell at some point because someone's ARE  spending the money. Otherwise it wouldnt be profitable to make in the first place, they would cheapen out parts, quality would suffer, and then the reputations or "bad reviews" would eventually finish it off. My point being - there is a market for them and they're willing to piss away $1400 on a low muzzle rising revolver that doesnt leave evidence behind. lol

She's mine! Took it apart, gave it a good cleaning (I think maybe the only cleaning it's ever had), put plenty of oil on it, put it back together and gave the action some working. Seems to work just fine. There is a slight hiccup that I think will fix itself. After dry firing, the action doesn't always want to release, requiring either a tug forward on the pump or pushing the release manually. The more I work it the less prone this seems to be.

Sounds like you cleaned it with oil, if it is/was bad enough, you should try just a cleaner, then re-oil and you should be good.

Also, that looks really nice, congrats :)

I used WD40 and a toothbrush to clean it with, then lubricated with oil. I never use oil itself to clean. I find it does a crap-tastic job of it. WD40 however I find it cheaper than actual gun cleaners, works just as well, and I can get it anywhere. Stuff practically melts carbon away.

Yeah, it'll do in a pinch - but next time you're out, i'd seriously recommend you grab a little bottle of MPro7 Cleaner, you'll wish you did it earlier.

Never heard of it until now. Looked it up and nearly choked on my drink when I saw the price. I'm glad you can afford it dude, but I sure can't, lol.

Erm, not exactly, though i will say the availability on Amazon is a little weird right now, i haven't bought it in a while as i bought the gallon size 4 years ago, still got loads left, it lasts a long time and if you use it as a bath, you can filter and re-use it, very handy.

https://www.amazon.com/Hoppes-M-Pro-Gun-Cleaner-Bottle/dp/B00162PQTG?keywords=m-pro+7&qid=1537934157&s=Sports+%26+Outdoors&sr=1-15&ref=sr_1_15

That's $15 right now for 8oz, and that'll last you ages.

(To the part of weird availability, the biggest part of that is everyone is calling it Hoppe's MPro7, which is just straight up dumb - Hoppe's Elite range is made by MPro7, so someone screwed up somewhere calling it both)

They make it in 8oz, 4oz, and even a 2oz bottles the latter 2 I've found for less than $10 and $7 which for 2oz would be a great way to try the product. And seeing what my vendor for things states is MSRP for a gal That is steep, if people are sticking to MSRP, Ive got better deals available for sure.

We just don't push those items.

Yeah, looking at my orders over the years, i basically kept going up in size, making sure i liked it, and bought the gallon for the price break.

More good news. My new holster came in from Black Rhino Concealment. 10 degree cant, plain black kydex, went ahead and did the threaded barrel option at no extra cost (I've been kicking around the idea of getting a 9mm suppressor for it) and of course the light. I had to adjust the ride height a bit, and it's going to take some getting used to, but so far I like it. Nothing to show, really. Would recommend the company, thus far.

similar thoughts.. Just got my 9mm Conversion barrel in from Lone Wolf as well as a SS recoil rod a new stock 18lb spring and I also added in a 20lb spring. The 9mm barrel is a threaded barrel and I'll be also replacing the .40 barrel with a new threaded version unit as well.

Alright.. well if you didnt think that I wouldn't end up with at least a couple of these.. LOL

9mm x 30 + 1 chambered = 31 rounds.. But looks ridiculous, I would never open carry it like this.. and yes, THATS IN all the way..! [thats what she said!]

vs .40 Cal x 13 + 1 = 14 Rounds

Give me a few weeks.. I'll have at least two of these bastards!! [100 rounds x 9mm] this.. THIS.., I WOULD open carry LMAO ! jk

Happy sticks! I plan on getting the extended mag for my Beretta. 25 or 30 rounds, I don't remember how many it holds other than "a lot".

Went to academy today and got some ammo for my new Model 12. The Super X was actually cheaper than the plain white box, so I had to go for that. The Rio is more expensive (by a 1.50) than the super X, but I had to have some blue shotgun shells. We'll see how they work out.

Also, I took the tube magazine apart and found it still had it's original factory plug, or the unhappy stick. Took that out and put it aside to hang onto, should I ever find i need it and all.

One of these days I plan on getting an Echo trigger to drop into an AR-15. Which one it'll go in is up for debate. At some point after some reviews come out, I'd like to snag up the AK version of the echo. I won't be able to actually USE the AK's echo, though unfortunately. The one place I can fire as fast as I like doesn't allow steel cased ammo, due to it being an indoor range with traps that can be damaged. The range which does allow steel case is an outdoor range and is a total fud range.

Doesn't allow you to carry your own weapon on your person (unless you're LEO) and you can't fire faster than one shot every two seconds or so. If I fly solo I don't go there, but the nice people I run into make it better.

I'm looking into finally getting a good gunbelt. Any recommendations? Only requirements are that it be 1.5 inches wide, black, and for it not to look like I just pulled it off the shelf at a local store (IE, doesn't scream 'tactical'.)

I wear an alien gear daily. I wear it for dress, I wear it for carry. It is the best belt I have ever owned, if anything happened to it I would immediately buy another. I'll see if I can find it on their site.

AAAhhh looks like they split that division off in to "Bigfoot Gun Belts" but it is the same belt. I've had mine for like 4 years I love it.
