My biggest problem with the new Ranger is the size of the bed. I have a 6' step-side on the '04 and wish I had the LWB flairside bed. I have gotten around the bed limitation with a ladder rack. It works but...

That's the worst lift method I have ever seen.

You probably will not see a factory V-8. The current v-8's are huge wide engines. If you look under the hood of a 5.0 F-150 or Mustang the engine compartment it is full. With the factory pushing the EB engines it will not be too long before the V-8 is not available in the F-150.

Looks like the build and price tool is live now. I'm not going to lie I have a feeling they are repeating the history of why they killed this platform stateside... Crew cab, 4x4 xlt starts at 34 grand, add heated seats, remote start, skid plates and a hitch and you're knocking on $40k...

idk about you guys but there are a lot of other vehicals out there for 40 grand.

https://shop.ford.com/build/ranger/#/select/

Good looking truck and I cant wait to hear some actual numbers (tow rating, load capacity, mpg) for it but it really looks like they are pricing them out of the market again...

Fully loaded extended cab 4x4 is $55 shy of $46K.

Yeah, again it seems that they're aiming for people who want 4 seats and for this to be the family vehicle.

Part of what makes/made the previous Ranger so appealing me, is that it's just a truck, it's utility.

I could not justify it as an additional vehicle if it was another car, but with worse handling, MPG, performance.
