Welcome Jamie, Glad you joined us. Have fun and enjoy F-R. I read your story. I have a 99 Ranger with a blown 3.0. Do you give est. on a 5.0 swap. No headers, I hate them.

THANK YOU!!!!!

Absolutely I can do 5.0 swap for you from mild to wild, every conversion is different so it requires alot of conversation about the project to get to a price
What is wrong with headers??? LOL LOL use the right gaskets and fasteners and they will not leak, trust me I had to fight 3 sets of TM headers before they stopped leaking...the cure is percy's neverleak gaskets or whatever they are called, or copper, those work well too. The gt40 5.0 wont make much power without first removing the factory choke point....... now you can get the OBX headers on ebay for a good price too. Otherwise we use the 98+ cast manifolds or even some old Mustang tri-y shorty's those will fit the ranger frame well (shhhhh)

I'm here, we are up and running in North Idaho, off grid customs shop. We do anything RBV. My specialty is wiring and drivetrain/OBD2 conversions, or auto to 5 speed conversions, 2 to 4wd, 4 banger to v6, custom installs and fabrication. We TRY to do everything in house, even alignments, and exhaust....

You guys rule, I can't wait to have a look around
You can find me online under 410Fortune and 410Customs. Explorer4x4.com, Dezertrangers.com, rzrforum, fjforum, powerstrokenation.com, hardcoresledder.com, and waaaay more......

Ill post up more info about us here, you can see some of our work in the 99 Ranger v8 thread that brought me here.

PM me for my email address

those ports are tiny, but its the 3 cyl into one tube the size of my thumb that really chokes it
TMH got what 24 HP just by bolting them on? I forget the exact number....add to that a cam to ditch the soccer mom explorer cam, complete the full roller conversion with some roller tip rockers  and you have yourself a powerhouse....aluminum heads, injection and tuning....
The 84 Ranger we built for my buddy makes 340hp, not bad for 302 displacement...no thats not RWHP its at the flywheel......plenty to motivate even the heaviest of RBV.
My 88 BII is pretty mild, engine is mostly stock aside from CAI, TMH, Intake spacer, 2 into 1 muffler and 3" out the back (should be 2.5") I have been daily driving it since 05 no headaches, the most reliable vehicle in the fleet..... The 12 years before 2005 it was a 4.0 OHV with 5 speed and then Transwerx built A4LD I think I did the 4.0 back in 97??
Owning and operating this BII allows me to afford other toys and projects over 25 years with all the mods that Bronco still comes out to under $150 a month to own, 260hp ish, lightly modded 4r70w, bw1354m w AA short adapter, custom long travel/beams TTB setup, 1/2" body DROP, cruise control, AC, heated seats, mechanical fan, 35's, 4.10 and dual ARB's. What else does one need? Hit the trails all day and then 75 mph all the way home....
Thats why I'm here
Plus over the last 11 years I have taught my now 30 year old stepson everything I can
Now we build them together...

Thanks For having me!! If anyone wants any info or has questions about our builds or their projects. This is my passion, I love to talk trucks

410Customs,  Welcome to The New Ranger Forum !

When you say Mustang headers, are we talking about Factory 289-HiPo Cast Iron Hi-Flow Headers, circa 1965-66; they aren't really Tri-Y's, but they definitely flow, 350 HP or more !
I think the HiPo-289 engines was under rated as most Ford high performance engines were, even though they were rated at 271 - 306 Horse Power the really the high end Hi-Po's were really in the 350 range. !
Maybe the Hi-Po Cast Iron Headers can be cleaned up some and use them for both performance and looks !

I just happen to have a set of the Cast Iron Headers from a 271 hp 289, nice engine and I thought I was going to have give them away !

Now they maybe keepers with a little work to open them up !

Get this my stepson found a set of TM's at the junk yard in Denver....they are sitting downstairs waiting to go on his wife's highly custom 98 ex that was mine about 12 years ago...
talk about a score! Like Monster Garage used to say..... "Freebie!!!!"

(well dang near)

When you say Mustang headers, are we talking about Factory 289-HiPo Headers, circa 1965-66 ?
yes and their shorty reproductions let me see if I can find a pic its been years since we discussed this
Have to build Y pipe or downpipes but that's nothing new
at least here in ID no more emissions for my personal stuff...I will be redoing my BII exhaust soon delete the cats reduce the size of the tail pipe to 2.5" and a new muffler mine is rusted out was put in 2005

410Custom,
Score on the TM Headers, any thoughts on the 289 HiPo Cast Iron Headers (well maybe they are called Manifolds) but they are high flow for their time.
