410Customs, Welcome to The New Ranger Forum ! When you say Mustang headers, are we talking about Factory 289-HiPo Cast Iron Hi-Flow Headers, circa 1965-66; they aren't really Tri-Y's, but they definitely flow, 350 HP or more ! I think the HiPo-289 engines was under rated as most Ford high performance engines were, even though they were rated at 271 - 306 Horse Power the really the high end Hi-Po's were really in the 350 range. ! Maybe the Hi-Po Cast Iron Headers can be cleaned up some and use them for both performance and looks ! I just happen to have a set of the Cast Iron Headers from a 271 hp 289, nice engine and I thought I was going to have give them away ! Now they maybe keepers with a little work to open them up !
