 I was on the Web looking for a 1952 Ford F1 Pickup and ran across this SUV.

1951 FORD F1 RANGER MARMON-HERRINGTON



I would love to find one of these that I could afford but there are only 11 known to exist !

Thinking the price tag would be staggering !

Just something to look at !

 me tooo 40s and 50's were so nice!!
60's and 70's no slouch either
It was the 80's that saw the creation of our beloved mini trucks, but damn...the older ones were so much cooler!!

 '50s and '60s Trucks are nice ones for sure; partial to the early '50s.

Just started looking for a 1951 or preferable 1952 F1 Pickup !

Good ones are going up in price fast !

 One of my first attempts at restoring a vehicle was a '52 F-2 that had a locked up 6 cylinder and a rotted bed back in the early 80's. My doner vehicle was a 80 Grand Marquis that had been rolled that I acquired at a police auction for $175. The only items that I was able to salvage was the engine, EOD tranny, and steering column. The seat I thought I was going to be able to use was too wide and the rear axle was bent. I was able to part out enough of the Marquis to get my $175 back.

When I wasn't working on the truck I was scouring the junkyards for parts. It cost about 3 years, 1 longtime friendship, and about $9k to get a decent looking, dependable truck.

 Nice '53.
My first truck was a 1950 F1, put a 58 Olds J2, Engine, 371 cubic inches, in it with a stock 3-sp... didn't know any better; plenty of room for the engine !
If I could afford one or rebuild one, it would be a '52 but we will see !
I swapped the '50 F1 for a 1950 Mercury, 2-dr, the guy took the engine out of the truck and I got it put it in the Merc.

A lot of fun for shrt cash back then !

Most of the 40's, 50's, and 60's Truck were nice looking, the latter being not as nice as the other two earlier decades, but when done up they all look good !
