I'm putting new tires on the ranger in the next two weeks. I want to see who's running what. Preferably only stuff that fits stock height trucks. Mines a 99 super cab 4x4 for reference.
Thoughts, miles, road noise, all that would be appreciated. I know some of the other forums probably have similar threads, but I figured this would be a good way to start some discussion.

Hmm, don't appear to be able to use the gallery on mobile, but I run the Bridgestone Dueler Revo 2's.
Almost no road noise, had zero issues in the snow, would buy again.

Hercules Terra Trac T/G Max on D windows with 3.5" of back spacing. I took these off my jeep, but didn't keep them on since the center bore was too big, and they kept getting off center giving me a vibration, BUT once I save up enough $$ to buy correct sized rims I'll be buying these or Terra Trac M/Ts for my truck.

I am running Cooper Discoverer A/T-3, no noticeable noise on the highway & were good in the snow. So far I have put on about 10K miles & they still look as new as the day they were put on.

Mike, I googled those tires. I really like the looks of the tread pattern on them. I bought Coopers for my truck last spring to put on the new AR172 wheels. I went with street tires as my truck doesn't see off road (well, except when it gets icy).

Thinking of getting a new set of A/T tires to put on the factory split spokes and sell the new wheels and tires.

Went from these Falken RT615K's to...

33" DynaPro MT's

Almost 50K out of a set so far.. but they need to be replaced. Offroading a few times a week wears them out faster than road travel by far.. Going with same, just one size bigger.. 34's !

Well coming from the standpoint I have always hated tire howl and I am a bit of an audio snob bent on Sound Q and wanting a quiet interior.. I was impressed and happy.

I will admit as they've gotten very close to if not at the wear-bars by now they aren't "noisy" per se' but they have become... ~ audible?

If that makes any sense?

First set of tires I've ever owned that got that kind of mileage out of them. I spent a fair amount of time constantly keeping it aligned and the tires rotated every 5-6K. And I was out on trails and spur roads at least 3 times a week or more. But truth be spoken, I've never bought a tire for longevity.. Always performance reasons first, whether track or daily grinder.

been a Pirelli guy, then when I got into tracking cars I was a Yokohama fanboy for years and years.. Still like em, just don't have anything fast anymore to warrant them. Kinda bounced between Yokes to Falken's.. AO32 to Rt 615, AO32's.. back to RT615K's.. then DynaPro MT after working around Nissans for a few years. All of the Frontier/Xterra's Pro4X come with the AT version. And when I couldn't get the Toyo Open Countries I wanted in the size I needed at that time.. I gave the HanKooks a try and for 2.5 years almost three I been hooked on them since.

Will be picking up another set but just one more size up to squeeze a 34" on there. All that for just another 1/2" of lift.. LOL

Good to hear. I am quite used to tire noise. I've owned a handful of large diesels with 37" tires or larger.
I was debating going with the Cooper AT3, but knowing I'll be giving this truck to my son in a year or so, I feel he'd be happier with an MT that he can use in the mountains around our house.

Fifth set of KO2's I've owned and by far the best. Previous version of KO2's proved my current Ranger that they can get the vehicle in 30 inches of fresh powder snow. Amazing tire worth every dime spent; like most other buyers you won't be sorry.

I like a true winter tire- a luxury, perhaps on a 4x4, but one I can comfortably afford, and I think is well worth it living where I do.

Wasn't quite the original plan, but since I bought this truck eight years ago, I have not bought a car or truck tire that wasn't a Nokian Nordmann- three or four sets on the Ranger, and I've had them on both my little cars, too. Cheap, good in snow, wear pretty well...a bit loud but not awful. I get about three winters out of 'em on the truck, then use 'em as summer tires for the next three years.

Here's the set that's on it now, back when they were new.

No pictures but I run BFG, great tires.
Ive run the Mud Terrains, the All Terrains A/Ts and KOs, and the KM2's, all the BFG Tires last.

As a bonus... when they are worn down some and get replaced the old ones make for a GREAT SMOKE SHOW !

The store didn't have the coopers. Couldn't get then for a week. I went with a pathfinder at. Road noise is non existent. Rides smooth. Much better than my old worn out bfg's.

I'm going to go with those on my Jeep when it's time for tires on it. I've got 31x10.5x15 general grabber at2s on it now and they did good in the snow but I've always liked the BFGs.
