I like a true winter tire- a luxury, perhaps on a 4x4, but one I can comfortably afford, and I think is well worth it living where I do. Wasn't quite the original plan, but since I bought this truck eight years ago, I have not bought a car or truck tire that wasn't a Nokian Nordmann- three or four sets on the Ranger, and I've had them on both my little cars, too. Cheap, good in snow, wear pretty well...a bit loud but not awful. I get about three winters out of 'em on the truck, then use 'em as summer tires for the next three years.
