 In the process of upgrading my 07ranger the topic of ABS delete came up. After researching the topic came across a discussion of a 3rd option. On another forum is a member called rwenzing and V8 level II both trucks (may be the same truck) are credited in posts about completing this mod. I've only been able to find the thread about its completion and pictures were not available for me. I would appreciate it if anyone can point me to or locate this thread.

 The ABS doesn't work once the light bulb blows. I would think an on/off push button switch in line there would disable it.

 or if you cut a wheel speed sensor wire, or if you pull the ABS fuse. A simple interrupt in one of these circuits will cause the abs to disable and display a dash light.

Same is true for the airbags.

I have been talking to EddieMoney about removing his ABS brakes LOL his idea is to simply disable it when he wants too, a very good idea, should be pretty simple to achieve.

Thoughts?
Who has done this?
I usually just remove the whole dang system pump and everything and plumb around it...

I was thinking of putting the switch(s) in the radio bezel like others have done with fog lights and light bars

 we can put switched pretty much anywhere, the stereo bezel is one of the easiest locations to access and wire too... You will also have a new full center console, even more places for switches......

I like the idea of a ABS disable.
If it was my truck ABS pump and system go bye bye! But that is NOT for everyone...

I thought I had pictures of when I replaced the blown Airbag light with an LED but I can't find it. A blown passenger Airbag light will trip the ABS light on the dash and disable the ABS.  A change to an LED requires a 1 ohm resistor for the LED to work properly.  A on/off single throw or push-button switch in-line with the resistor and LED would trip the ABS.

 A blown passenger Airbag light will trip the ABS light on the dash and disable the ABS.  
Airbag related faults can disable the SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) but cannot disable the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System).

If you want to be able to disable only and then default to enabled at key up, that could be done using a single Bosch-style relay and a single push button in a latching circuit.

If you want to be able  to both disable and enable the device and default to enabled on key up, it could be done using the latching circuit with a single relay and 2  push buttons (on and off).

It is also possible to enable and disable and default to on at start using a single normally open pushbutton and a group of relays. However, the wiring gets a bit more complicated.
